"More Clear Skys for Stone"
Stone does it again. The Stone Barrington series by Stuart Woods for nubies are short siimplistic stories where it generally, but not always, turns out wonderful for everyone in the end. Even the "town fool" Herbie becomes a multimillionaire and always gets the girl. In short these are great fun breaks from reality. Always well written. Narration always consistent.
"Chilling Tale of the Future"
This is a chilling if somewhat paranoid tale of the future. This is billed as a worst case future of what would happen if the UN gets to rule the USA. As a fictional story it was a very good listen. The ending was somewhat disappointing, and left me wanting more. Maybe there is a sequel. While I don't see the worst happening (and I don't think the author does either), as a child of the early fifties the current erosion of freedoms does parallel what the book portends. It was so good we also got the Kindle version. First time getting both versions of a book.
"Should Have Stayed Lost"
Thursday novels are one of my likes. I missed this one, but found it with the new series feature. Thought it would be like the rest. It is (spoiler?) about plots that are in the library basement waiting to get written into novels. That is where this plot should have stayed as far as I am concerned. As much as I like Thursday it was a chore to keep listening. It gets high ratings, but I found it jumbled overall. Only made it one third in, and gave up. Earlier and later ones in the series are better.
"WOW Get this book. Great plus Scott Brick"
I have been an Audible customer since 2006. I have never been motivitated to leave even stars for a book. After over 400+ books I am moved to write a review for this book. This book is a real thriller in every way. You never know who the are the good guys or the bad guys. It never had slow periods. I was amazed how it managed to keep my attention througout the entire book. Scott was wonderful as always. The short chapters helped keep place on my player. I have purchased some Melzer before. I will be going back to check for more after this. Thanks Brad.
