My mind, my heart, my life has been opened by this audiobook. The narrator perfected the characters. It openend every emotion in me; fear, hatred, love, trust... The author envelopes proper language and the most improper social behavior to adhere the story to almost any reader. The most important piece, the Love of Jesus, is shadowed in most of the book. In the end the beauty of our saviour is shown in the enveloping and intertwining of all the characters. Beautiful!!!
I recommended this book to my husband. He couldn't get past the first few chapters. Halfway through I insisted he join. He began listening as I was finishing the book. I told him not to bother finishing. He finished listening and was as disappointed as I had been.
Finish it. Complete it.
The male voice was idiotic, John Kerryish
It was entertaining, but the ending defeated the experience. It wasn't worth it.
Don't start what you can't finish!!
I need to read the others!!!
This book was the closest I could ever be to understanding where my brother and his friends were as they were torturing me as a little girl. I appreciate the evil torment now with a bit of a giggle! Great book!!!
I listened to 'Some Wildflower in my Heart", by Jamie Langston Turner, and fell in love with Cynthia Darlow's reading. Looking for more of her work I found this book. I have been an ardent watcher of the T.V series and was intrigued to have the opportunity to listened to something I had viewed, narrated by somebody I wanted to hear more. The book was true to the show, and Cynthia was true to the actress/main character. Same person?? It took me quite a few minutes to discern any difference. I long to hear more good books read by this narrator.
Loved it, longed for it, was dissapointed at the end. There was no closure!! I don't want to have to wait for the next book to be published. It's just not fair!!!
It was good, entertaining, but just not plausible. The dark twists that continued to break up any sort of comfort the listener may have grasped hold of, were not quite emphasised. It seemed disjointed; love story, moral integrity, incest, molestation, religion, magic... Just too much in a single book. I would have liked to have each piece have it's own book.
Sorry, maybe my faulty character, but I could not get past the hyena ripping the flesh off the defenseless zebra. The possible rescue of Pi could not have made it any easier. If this going to get any easier I may torture myself through this, but I haven't seen any hope yet. Too tough, too long, too graphic.
I need to know more... I love your family, I grieve your loss. I can't wait to hear more!!!
I bought this audiobook because I was looking for comedy. I have a somewhat sarcastic, sardonic edge. I read the reviews and it seemed to fit. I was thouroughly dissapointed. The author, also the narrator, is not only sarcastic and sardonic, but also extremely blanddddd.....and incredibly ongoinggggggggggggggg!!! Oh, and just as a side note, I didn't know he was gay! I listened to the book for a couple hours before I caught on. At first I thought it may have been a female narrator with a slightly throaty voice. Then I imagiend it was a "store bought" narrator. The realization that it was the actual author narrating the audiobook gave me a creepy feeling. "What the hell"? I tried to keep listening but, even a frugal as I am, I cannot listen to another bland, frustrated, unkind, uncaring, sarcastic, and even sardonic word from what I assume (for I still do not even know the author) little man that apparently has enough money to make people want to pay attention to his life.
