Anne Rice is my version of fast food literature. Always tasty and probably a little bad for the soul, but entirely enjoyable!
I loved the first book and couldn't wait for the second to be released as an audible book, but I didn't enjoy this as much as the first book. Something just didn't do it for me, I kept waiting for something more to happen and it never did...but the overall story is still interesting enough to hold your attention.
The overall story was extremely interesting, some portions were a bit sappy sweet, but overall a good story and should make for an even better movie. The tears will be flowing so don't listen on the road if you don't relish the idea of being gawked at by surrounding drivers!
I was browsing online suggestions and came across this - what a find! I loved this story, the reader and would highly recommend it.
The story had me hooked and looking forward to the next chapter each day. If you enjoyed The Mayfair Witches, Twilight, etc... this will be an enjoyable read. The reader was easy to listen to and kept my interest the entire time. This is definitely NOT a waste of a credit.
I couldn't relate to the main female character, in fact she annoyed me. Just couldn't get into it at all and this story was ultimately so depressing! I'm all for tragedy and drama but this left me wanting to slit my wrists. Yikes.
I was really hoping this would live up to the hype, but it really felt like a waste of a credit. The story just never got good and I just couldn't get into the author/reader's voice.
I read this based on a suggestion by a friend and completely loved it. This book contained the most shocking making of a vampire that I have read yet. I couldn't put this down and was held completely captivated until the very last sentence. If you love Anne Rice, this one won't let you down!
I could not stop listening all weekend and I can't wait for the movie to open!
I was a bit hesitant about listening to a story through the eyes of a young girl, but soon got over that - I loved the story of this girl's life and it even grabbed my 12 year old son's attention when he overheard the story being read aloud.
I felt like I was reading the story of Forest Gump's brother,...if he had one. The author easily held my attention throughout and I found that I looked forward to listening each day. This should make for an interesting movie.
