  • City of Fallen Angels: The Mortal Instruments, Book 4

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 39 mins)
    • By Cassandra Clare
    • Narrated By Ed Westwick, Molly C. Quinn

City of Fallen Angels take up where City of Glass left off. With Valentine out of the way, Clary thought she and Jace could finally be together--but when someone starts murdering the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine's Circle and leaving their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to destroy the new peace between Downworlders and Shadowhunters, she realizes the past can never be left entirely behind.

Amazon Customer says: "HATE that female reader!"
    "The narrators!"

I don't know what they were thinking using an awful British guy to reason Simon's story. Hello! Simon is not British! You can't understand half of what the guy says. The female narrator is just as bad. Doesn't she know how to do any voices besides a little girls? Jeez she doesn't even change tones from Clarey to Jace. I've listed to tons of audiobooks but these narrators have to be two of the worse.

  • Cerulean Sins: Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter: Book 11

    • UNABRIDGED (15 hrs and 43 mins)
    • By Laurell K. Hamilton
    • Narrated By Cynthia Holloway
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

How the mighty have fallen! Once a sworn enemy of all vampires, Anita is now the human consort of both Jean-Claude, the Master Vampire, and Micah, the leopard shapeshifter. But her love life doesn't stop there. It can't. For Anita - not quite as human as she once was - is consumed by both the lusts of the vampire and the primal hungers of the wereleopards. Desires that must be sated - time and time again.

Kimberly says: "Why did they change Narraters?"
    "Nothin but sex sex sex"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Did the author run out of ideas? There is sex scene every other minute. These books use to have a point to them. Anita is screwing a minimum of a dozen men.

What could Laurell K. Hamilton have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Write about something other than sex. These books are very repeatitive. A little murder scene, a little feeling sorry for herself and crying over everything, then nothing but lots of sex with lots of men.

How could the performance have been better?

Just give up reading for this writer.

What character would you cut from Cerulean Sins?

    All the men she screws.

    Any additional comments?

Grow up. I'm done with this series.

  • Halfway to the Grave: Night Huntress, Book 1

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 17 mins)
    • By Jeaniene Frost
    • Narrated By Tavia Gilbert
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father—the one responsible for ruining her mother's life. Then she's captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unlikely partnership. In exchange for help finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She's amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner…are there actually good vampires?

Stephenie says: "Great series. Worth every credit."
    "The best series ever!!!!!!"
Would you consider the audio edition of Halfway to the Grave to be better than the print version?

One should experience the audio version because of the audio reader. Tavia is the best reader I have ever heard.

What did you like best about this story?

The constant action and the romance that develops.

What about Tavia Gilbert’s performance did you like?

Everything. She is so talented. It's unbelievable that she can just turn her voice into any character male and female and you can tell which character they are immediately.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There were some moments that I laughed, but this book is mostly serious. Comedy comes into play more later in the series.

    Any additional comments?

I could listen to these books a million times and never get tired of them. GiVe them a try!

  • Divergent

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 11 mins)
    • By Veronica Roth
    • Narrated By Emma Galvin
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

  • Partials

    • UNABRIDGED (14 hrs and 6 mins)
    • By Dan Wells
    • Narrated By Julia Whelan
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

The human race is all but extinct after a war with Partials - engineered organic beings identical to humans - has decimated the population. Reduced to only tens of thousands by RM, a weaponized virus to which only a fraction of humanity is immune, the survivors in North America have huddled together on Long Island while the Partials have mysteriously retreated. The threat of the Partials is still imminent, but, worse, no baby has been born immune to RM in more than a decade. Our time is running out.

    Tabitha says: "Action! Romance! Science!"
    "Highly recommend"
Where does Partials rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Upper 1/4

Who was your favorite character and why?

Which character – as performed by Julia Whelan – was your favorite?

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not at first, but it got a lot more interesting the second half and I couldn't put it down.

    Any additional comments?

This is a very clean book. There is no sex, foul language, or gruesome descriptions of violent acts. I highly recommend this book. It's a great read. I really hope they come out with a second book.

  • Breaking Dawn: The Twilight Saga, Book 4

    • UNABRIDGED (20 hrs and 29 mins)
    • By Stephenie Meyer
    • Narrated By Ilyana Kadushin, Matt Walters
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare, woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, she has endured a tumultuous year of temptation, loss, and strife to reach the ultimate turning point.

Angie says: "I couldn't wait for the audio book"

I can't say enough about these books. I couldn't put them down. I have listed to the series multiple times and I can't find other books that catch my interest as much as this series. The audio readers are brilliant. Ilyana and Matt do a perfect job. Matt especially does a perfect Jacob. The only disappointment with this book is that it ended with "The End". Sigh....
