I think that the audio gives it more life - Roy Dotrice is a phenomenal narrator - his many voices brought the book to life for me. The only reason for buying the book as well, was to be able to read when I lay in bed. I started believing these were real people, because of Roy's narration.
The characters are complex and realistic - I wondered at times if this was fact or fiction. The descriptions of scene and character enables one to create strong visual images of the text.
Tyrion Lannister by far - he is the most charming character of all. Love his determination, courage and wicked sense of humour.
Most definitely - but of course we can't always have what we want.
This is a "read" you will never regret!
No, I never read a book twice, so I will not listen to it again.
Ralph Megson - he was strong, compassionate and he stood by what he believed.
She brought the characters to life by using interesting accents.
Richard McAndrew - for all the wrong reasons - he made me want to throttle him for his cruel ways.
I loved the book, but was disappointed that I had started this trilogy in the middle - so now I am going to read the first and then the third.
No, I would rather read it because I found the narrator annoying.
I loved the characters and the descriptions of the settings - I was transported into the Italian Alps and I loved it!
Her Italian accents were annoying. She mispronounced quite a few words which I thought was really irritating.
I cried in quite a few of the sad bits - I had fallen in love with the main character, Ciro.
I would highly recommend the book as it is a really lovely story.
