    I gave this weekend to
Stephen King. Nothing accomplished except very long walks with dog and MP3 player. I would vote that this is his best book ever. The Florida Keys will never be the same, and I won't be buying any artwork soon!!!!You need to read/listen to this book. PS I really enjoyed the reader also.

    Glory says: "Incredible FICTION"
    "Enjoyable listen"

I listened because my book club selected it but it was a pleasant surprise...engaging, would recommmend it. The cowboys vs the indians from another point of view...

  • A Piece of Cake

    • UNABRIDGED (21 hrs and 8 mins)
    • By Cupcake Brown
    • Narrated By Bahni Turpin

There are shelves of memoirs about overcoming the death of a parent, childhood abuse, rape, drug addiction, miscarriage, alcoholism, hustling, gangbanging, near-death injuries, drug dealing, prostitution, or homelessness. Cupcake Brown survived all these things before she'd even turned 20.

Kim says: "Amazing , Brutal, Inspiring"
"Best that I have heard in a while!"

I have recommended this book to everyone and no one has been disappointed. A testimony to the power of having someone believe in you even when you can't. We can learn alot from Miss Cupcake Brown (her real name). She went to hell and came back . Her story reminded me of The Glass Castle in that it haunted me to think what some children in the country have to overcome.

  • Dark of the Moon

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 22 mins)
    • By John Sandford
    • Narrated By Eric Conger
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Virgil Flowers kicked around for a while before joining the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. First it was the army and the military police, then the police in St. Paul, and finally Lucas Davenport brought him into the BCA, promising him, "We'll only give you the hard stuff." He's been doing the hard stuff for three years now, but never anything like this.

Crystal says: "Great winding road of a story"
    "Good story but..."

I didn't want to miss any of the story and listening in the car, my attention would leave the story for a few moments at a time and with SO MANY CHARACTERS I ended up getting the book from the library to fill in the gaps in my knowledge. I think if I had it to do over again I would just prefer to do this one with the pages in my hand so I can keep all the people straight....Maybe I shouldn't listen and drive at the same time!

  • The Glass Castle

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 14 mins)
    • By Jeanette Walls
    • Narrated By Julia Gibson

This extraordinary memoir from Jeannette Walls is a stirring and distinctive story that has won tremendous critical acclaim. In a starred review, Publishers Weekly applauds the author's "fantastic storytelling knack", saying, "Walls doesn't pull her this excellent, unusual book."

Tracie says: "Stayed Awake Until 5 am to Finish!!!"
    "My New Favorite Book"

Not since Angela's Ashes has a book captivated me like this one. I liked it more than the Frank McCourt story since she is someone we might have known as she grew up here in the US. and would recommend it to anyone who ever grew up in a family with less than perfect parents. Hers will make yours look much better when you compare your life to hers...
