The story was way too slow moving. Kava's books are usually better than this so I was disappointed. I think keeping the main character out of the major action for a good part of it did not help. It also seemed repetitve in many spots.

This story really keeps your attention from the beginning where the main character is put in the postion of making a hoffific choice between keeping his family safe and saving the lives of several innocent children, too the development of what ultimately does happen to his family and how they connect, I could not wait to see what happened next. It was an excellent illustration of how someone could be pushed to do things he never normally would even consider. I was glad that the main characer did find ways to show restraint.

I will choose more books by Ted Dekker. I was only disappointed that there was no epilog at the end.

If you like intense, dark thrillers you will enjoy this one!

I tried, I really tried to listen to this story but it was so boring I gave up. I made it through about a third of it but so little had happened by then I stoped putting myself through it. The reader isn't bad but it everything is drawn out in such a painfully slow way its just not worth waiting for.

I enjoyed Plum Island and would give it another half star if it were an option. The story is good but a bit drawn out. I enjoyed the main character's humor but it too was a bit over the top. It was a good listen but not the type where you just can't wait to hear what happens next. It was entertaining but a bit long. I found the last main part where they were traveling by boat to the Plum Island during the hurricane way too long.

Overall I would say it was a good listen but not outstanding.

The DD Warren series continues to provide strong police thirllers. This one had a great twist that was unexpected relative to who the main suspect/victem really is. Througout most of the story you are led to belive one thing only to discover something quite different. I'd say more but don't want to spoil it. If you like prior Gardnier books you will love this one too!

There were a few times when I arrived home after listening in my car I had to put my earbuds in and keep listening to see what happened next.

I enjoyed the series and listened to all four of the books. It was action packed from start to finish and something exciting happened constantly. I do think it got to be a bit much over time. Noone would survivie that much and catch so many lucky breaks to get out of such tough spots. Still it was a lot of fun; I do think it would have been better as a three book series so it would not have gotten so far fetched.

I do hope we see Charlie West in a future series.

I enjoyed the story and the small town. I will say I guessed who the killer was very early on but the characters were good and you really did come to care about what happenes to them. Also, a lot of the time where a romance develops the lead female character promptly becomes kind of an idiot. I am glad that did not happen and she retained her ability to think her way through situations.

The main plot of the see no evil killer was quite engrossing; following the thoughts of his victem as she was held captive made you really want to pull for her.

Overall, quite enjoyable. I will get the next one to listen to soon.

I have been reading the Cole/Pike series for years and greatly enjoy it. This one was right up there with the others. I found it interesting how it was told in a timeline of before and after Cole was taken by the "bad guys". Cole is a lot of fun, love his irreverant sense of humor. Pike is an interesting character who I would love to see more about.

The story was interesting and kept my attention while listening. You know that ultimately Pike will rescue Cole but you don't know what will happen to the characters who were taken.

It also makes you think about the struggles faced by people who try to come to the US illegally.

Not really, it was a very light thriller in that it was enjoyable to listen to but if you perfer more intense ones you may not like it that much. It was kind of quirky but in a light and pleasant way. I liked the 'British

I liked it. Its hard to say more wihtout giving it away. I am glad Reggie wound up ok.

I liked Reggie the best. Archer did an excellent job with all the characters and personalities. You could always tell who was talking.

There were a lot of subplots in the story and many things that should be really intense. It managed not to be, but it was still nice to listen to.

There were many of twists and turns; it kept the reader's attention even if some of the things that happened were a bit implausable.

It reminds me of many of the books the James Paterson co-authors. They move along quickly and you never know what is going to happen next.

I enjoy reading too, but she read it well and you really felt that she was speaking for the main character.

I call it a quilty pleasure becasue it was a roller coaster ride of unlikely events but it was a lot of fun to listen to and I like how it ended.
