Fun book even for adults. I'm 45, loved it. My dad who's 79 enjoyed it too.

I found the story well told. Perhaps the voice is a little monotone, but this isn't a fairy tale, its someones life experience. I especially like the quotes at the beginning of the chapters from various authors about Everest, and the author gives a brief account of some of the early attempts to climb Mt Everest which is interesting.
The story is a story of grief and sadness, so if you are looking for an uplifting story, this is not it. There are some redeeming portions, but on the whole I felt sadness in listening to this story. I think Jon shows lots of bravery exposing his thoughts to the world, I think those that are critical lack compassion and understanding of the predicament they were placed in.
