For my taste the book could have been shorter. More research than I needed, monkey experiments were tough to get through, theories from many other sources to back up the premise that the mind can change the brain. I did get a great deal out of the book and was then inspired to get a hypnosis book about the Mind changing the brain, by two different Doctors. It is good to know we are not "stuck" with the brain we have, we can make improvements.
To me- a slow book and it makes the Swedish Police force sound like a bungling batch of dim wits. I just couldn't finish it.
The narrator was terrific. I know it sounds like a dull subject but it wasn't and the narrator truly helped it to be showcased well. I learned a great deal and just might listen to it again in the future.
The "Tough Guy" narrator got on my nerves and I couldn't even get past a few chapters. Listen to the sample first, it might just be me.
As my title states, I had to get used to her voice and reading style. As the story became more and more engrossing and her strength of endurance extends further into the story, her voice becomes a marked contrast to her indomitable strength. This story will stay with me.
I did not expect to enjoy a modern day vampire story. It is well done and the reader is very good. It has a new twist to being a vamp. I will be looking for further books by this author.
I could not finish this. I found no redeeming or good reason to continue to read about a life dedicated to buying more and bigger. I guess it's a book about a life completely out of balance and self centered.
Still not sure if I agree with this books premise, but it has given me much to think about. The reader was good and the story has been researched, it's just a stretch for my mind to wrap around.
I read this awhile back and I can still recall the story! Some just seem to vanish but Henning Mankells books are so well written. Interesting plot and twists, kept me on the edge of my seat so they say. Well done and thank you.
Very well written and read. An amazing story of our troops in the second world war in the Philippines. Like I wrote it has been months since I read it and I still remember it. It was worth the time and $. Thank you
Good narrator and a good story. A tough female lead that you grow to dislike, then like. It is really well done!
