Look I read and review a lot of books on this site, when I decided to take a chance on Ironfire I had not idea it was going to be as outstanding a work as it was. I have never used this term in any of my reviews, however this novel is a MASTERPIECE ! In addition, the novel is also historically accurate, so your going to learn quite alot, while being entertained for 31 hours.Ironfire this book is a must buy.

In Matt Scudder's mind, money, power, and position elevate nobody above morality or the law. Now the ex-cop and unlicensed PI has been hired to prove that socialite Richard Thurman orchestrated the brutal murder of his beautiful, pregnant wife. During Scudder's hard-drinking years, he left a piece of his soul on every seedy corner of the Big Apple. But this case is more depraved and more potentially devastating than anything he experienced while floundering in the urban depths.

Lawrence Block can write one dang good detective novel. This series isn't going to be for everyone. This is a thinking mans detective novel which is pretty grounded and realistic. I have really fallen in love with this series. If you think you might like it I think you should give any one of his novels a try.

I really got pulled into this book when I first started reading it. It was creepy it had that air of menace that's really hard to cultivate, but then it started to turn into a lame teen love story and the female protagonist really starts to get on your nerves. By the time the climax hit I was really checked out. My advice is to pass on this one.

I picked this novel up after I read the first in the series. As much as I liked the second novel I have to admit I liked this on even more. They book has an excellent group of bad guys and the protagonist is so over matched he is in constant danger. This one is more heavy on the action than the second novel, but still with enough detective investigation to make it extremely interesting.

This really is a extremely interesting tale, with enough action to keep the reader entertained, and a solid and fascinating plot line. I liked this one so much as soon as I was finished I had to get the first book in the series.

Funnyman Adam Carolla is known for two things: hilarious rants about things that drive him crazy and personal stories about everything from his hardscrabble childhood to his slacker friends to the hypocrisy of Hollywood. He tackled rants in his first book, and now he tells his best stories and debuts some never-before-heard tales as well. Adam Carolla started broke and blue collar and has now been on the Hollywood scene for over 15 years. Yet he never lost his underdog demeanor.

Adam Carolla has lead a very interesting life. This book was well written and keeps you laughing the entire journey. From Adam's journey you get the sense that if this guy can make it there still might be hope for you. Additionally, you can't help but admire the man's grit and honesty about his life and shenanigans. I'd pick up this book and save it for a time that your feeling a little down, because this is a great pick me up.
