"C E Murphey Rocks"
This is one of my all time favorite series. Joanna Walker is such a kick ass heroine. Lots of philosophy, but also, lots of 'what the hell' lets go for it. Great cast of characters. Well written, unique perspective on urban fantasy.
"Clever Fun Romance"
This is an easy listen, and a fun book for anyone doing heavy lifting with complex books.
"Thrills, Art, Magic, Beethoven, Romance and Prague"
This is one of the best books I've 'read' in years. I bought it out of interest in the city of Prague, land of my ancestors... and also the art angle sounded interesting. Little did I know I was in for a Ride. One interesting twist after another, great characters, wonderful discussions of long lost art/music/pick something precious, it's probably in this book. Then throw in Cold War CIA operatives, and really, why wasn't this book longer?
And... Who is Magnus Flyte? I've been trying to find another book by the author, and wow, another mystery! Magnus, if you are out there, reading this, please write another books soon. You are my new favorite author, and I already miss the characters in this book.
My advice, buy this book. You will be entranced, entertained and engaged.
"Schizophrenic?"
I loved this first book. This one was Long, but not long enough to wrap up story lines in a satisfactory manner, even for a sequel (in the middle of a sequel). The ending was just so 'WTF?" I kept thinking I was having trouble with my ipod.. but no, it's just a flat 'am I missing some pages?" ending.... here's hoping the final ? book will have better flow. Yes, it's not the Source by James Michener, but it does go back and forth from now to then, just not with any sense of purpose.
"Short Stories to Fill in the Blanks"
There's lots to learn about Dresden and his cohorts, and this series of short stories is one way to get caught up. It's great to have a story or two with his other characters, like his White Court Vampire Brother, as well as where wolf Will, and Murphy being the lead characters.
"Great Wizard Series"
Jim Butcher is awesome. One of the best series Ever. However, I wish he could give Dresden a little down time occasionally... poor guy never even gets to sleep, much less Sleep With someone... seriously a terrific book... love the reintroduction of characters.
"Feisty New Heroine"
Margaret ("Grit"), the young attorney in CE Murphey's newest series is smart, brave, healthy, and compassionate. I love that she's leading these dangerous new creatures around by the nose.... well with their grudging consent. A great series about the creatures in the underbelly of New York City, it's also a geography lesson, and a love letter to the city.
After reading about wimpy whiny indecisive women in So Many Books it's just so refreshing and rewarding to have a 'take no prisoners' woman to admire. I'm Just getting ready to listen to House of Cards. I Highly recommend this series.
"Woman Shaman, Auto Mechanic and Street Beat Cop"
Good luck finding a book like this series that has these elements that are amazingly congruent, well read, and totally unique!!! I'm in love with Gary the cab driver... such an usual sidekick! And for the 'older' reader, a hero to get excited about!
"Joanna Walker, A Terrific Woman's Woman!"
I just totally love this series. Great reader!!! Terrific plots and characters. It does get philosophical but that's a great change from Shoot Em Up, Blow Em Up murder mysteries. Love Love Love the car analogies (not that many women appreciate automobiles). Plus when was there Ever a great woman mechanic character?? Novel Novel....
"Great New Heroine"
Joanne Walker is one of the best new heroines around. C E Murphy's mind is a fabulous place!!! Wonderful characters... especially love a great 'Senior'--Gary, who is strong and smart and tolerant. This series is a good compliment to the Jane Yellowrock series... both terrific female characters who are smart, tough, sexy and funny. Can't recommend these enough!
