    Yes, much better. Hearing George Carlin's words with his voice made the book funnier.

    Bossypants by Tina Fey. I think comedy books read by the author is similar to listening to a comedy album.

    Past antidrug campaigns actually encouraged drug use. A few years ago, America stopped dropping acid altogether. The meth epidemic peaked a long, long time ago. NAFTA opened the border and created a bonanza for cocaine and meth traffickers just as President Clinton knew it would. President Reagan may have inadvertently caused the crack epidemic. Kids today are doing fewer illegal drugs than kids from any time in the recent past, and for a surprising reason.

    I would totally recommend this. It's very informative and enlightening about America's relationship with illegal drugs.

    I thought his descriptions of the various hallucinogens that people were very accurate.

    The narrator sounded a little older than the writer, so whenever the book dropped into first person accounts, it sounded a little strange.

    What disappointed you about Oh Pure and Radiant Heart?

    The story just never went anywhere. I was almost finished with the book but couldn't be bothered listening to the very end. I just didn't care what happened to any of the characters.


    Would you ever listen to anything by Lydia Millet again?

    No, I wouldn't.


    What does Cori Samuel bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    I think the humor comes out well.


    If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Oh Pure and Radiant Heart?

    All of the parts having to do with religious fundamentalists.

    It was a bit odd to have a book set in America, following American character's POV with a British accent. It was a bit hard to overcome this disconnect.
