"Short but sweet!"
I will for sure listen to it again, I could not stop listening.
This was a pretty short book, but it was very well done. Don't expect a lot of new material from Roland and his gunslingers as there is not much. The book is mostly composed of two long short stories, one of them is the book's namesake and another is a new story about Roland when he was younger.I was THRILLED to have Stephen King read this book, he is an amazing story teller even if he does not have the talent of some of the usual narrators, he made it magic. He did a much better job then he did with Needful Things (although I enjoyed him listening to that one as well). The sneak peak at Doctor Sleep was great too, can't wait for it.
"Very Good!"
Yes, very well written, believable and only a few slow spots.
A lot of action, good characters and a great story. I put this series so far just slightly behind Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp series and miles ahead of The Grey Man series. Like the Mitch Rapp series everything that happens is believable and there were only a few slow spots. Very good read(listen).
"FANTASTIC!"
I would have to put the Stand in the top 3 of my library, possibly at #1 but there are so many great ones it's hard to decide. This is for sure King at his best, and Grover Gardner was wonderful. I usually only listen while at work, but I could not stop listening to this book, only Under the Dome did the same for me.
Too many memorable moments to pick 1.
He brought the characters to life.
"BORING!"
Interview With a Vampire had some slow spots, but I wanted to know more about Lestat so I purchased this book. What a borefest! I got through 2 of the 3 parts and I could not finish, this is the first audiobook I have not been able to finish and I have well over 100 in my library. Just droning boring details.
probably not
Yes
Dissapointment
"Koontz at his worst"
I have enjoyed over 20 Koontz books. This one I could not even finish, by far the worst book of his I have read. The narration was fantastic, which goes to show how poor the story was. There was nothing to keep my interest, the characters were boring and the "enemy" was just very lame. It's hard to believe he can go from By the Light of the Moon, which I think is his very best work, to this garbage. Even hardcore Koontz fans should skip this one.
