    What did you love best about The Return of the King?

    The return to Hobbiton is very encouraging. It shows the depth of the characters’ changes from the onset of their adventure. If ever you were in doubt that the very small are incapable of being very great. Doubt no more.


    What was one of the most memorable moments of The Return of the King?

    Gandalf’s foreshadowing of Gollum’s further role in the fate of the ring.


    Have you listened to any of Rob Inglis’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    I have all of his readings of Tolkien. I love the resounding depth of his voice as he gives melody to Tolkien's song.


    Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    YES! This and the whole series.


    Any additional comments?

    I listen to sections of the story almost every night, as I go to sleep (I love the story and know it by heart). I listen to it and my imagination runs wild as I drift off in familiar comfort.

    The love story was disappointing, the outcome of everyones life. The only positive is the endurance and determination of immoral people.

    Sir Percy Blakeney is the ideal man! Baroness Orczy nailed it on the head.

    One of the most memorable moments for me is when Marguerite goes to Percy for help.
    This is just a small excerpt:

    Percy,” she said impulsively, “Heaven knows you have been at pains to make the task, which I had set to myself, terribly difficult to accomplish. You spoke of my mood just now; well! we will call it that, if you will. I wished to speak to you…because…because I was in trouble…and had need…of your sympathy.”
    “It is yours to command, Madame.”
    “How cold you are!” she sighed. “Faith! I can scarce believe that but a few months ago one tear in my eye had set you well-nigh crazy. Now I come to you…with a half-broken heart…and…and…”
    “I pray you, Madame,” he said, whilst his voice shook almost as much as hers, “in what way can I serve you?”
    “Percy!—Armand is in deadly danger.

    Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    The death of the cousin that loved him so much. I hated her for being so week that the loss of him would kill her. I hated him to be willing to let her die because of him.

    Listening was much more enjoyable than reading. It took me months to find the time to read the book and now listening to it as I drive is much better.
