A writer..in my opinion...should NEVER narrate their own book. They OVER due the reading. Their emotions over their writing and the story are too high and it over exaggerates the way they narrate.

NO ONE can tell a story like Jodi Picoult. The narration is unbelievable. Perfectly fits the image she wants to portray I imagine. I do not know how a person can read when the narrators bring a story to life. I was a little nervous about this one...not being a fan of history or period pieces but as I said....Jodi just brings it to life.

What if bacteria turned all the gasoline in Los Angeles into vinegar? Carmageddon doesn't begin to describe it; Petroplague does. UCLA graduate student Christina Gonzalez wanted to use biotechnology to free America from its dependence on Middle Eastern oil. Instead, an act of eco-terrorism unleashes her genetically-modified bacteria into the fuel supply of Los Angeles, making petroleum useless.

If the narration is as an important to you as it is to me do not bother downloading this book to listen to. Buy it for a Kindle or whatever you may use for reading. My Grandchildren could have done a better job then the narrator is doing on this book. I am very disappointed.

Then, the unspeakable: a night of chaos and carnage gives way to sunrise on a nation, and ultimately a world, forever altered. All that remains for the stunned survivors is the long fight ahead and a future ruled by fear—of darkness, of death, of a fate far worse.

As always Jodi Picoult writes an amazing tale. A story that covers all sides and sends the "if it were me" thoughts into a tailspin. In doing this she always makes me see, that what I THINK is plain as day...can have many shades of gray. Thanks again Jodi for another amazing story.
