Molly Harper knows how to add humor to her stories. I can always depend upon her books to bring me a chuckle. And the "romance" is good, too, although a mite explicit.
How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf compares to other Molly Harper novels, especially the Jane Jameson series. Equally funny although Jane deals with mysteries.
Amanda Ronconi brings vision to all of her characters. I love her snide, snarky twists to the dialogue.
This book isn't designed to move anyone....it's just fun. Keep them coming, Molly Harper.
I seldom listen to audio books more than once. I doubt that I would do so with this book. I might read or listen to more titles in the series.
This book wasn't written to be moving. It was written for entertainment purposes only. And there is nothing wrong with some simple escapism.
I doubt that I would recommend this book to a friend. I guess zombie books are not my genre. The characters were flat. The action did not feel real. I had to force myself to finish listening to it.
I doubt that Bullion will be added to my "must read" list.
Dead Living inspired me to skip the zombie genre. I did see World War Z after reading this book but this book did not inspire me to do so. Blame that one movie trailers.
The characters in this novel were well developed. I think that it has been placed in the wrong genre. This is no mystery. Yes, a murder is committed but the reader knows early on who the murderer is. As evidenced by the title, the characters in this book just want to be "seen" by someone....just want their lives to have value.
Did not find the ending satisfying for all characters.
I am not a native Texan but have lived in Fort Worth for over 20 years. No one in Fort Worth has the accent that this reader used. I was really looking forward to this novel because I have read the author's work in the Fort Worth Star Telegram for a long time. I was extremely disappointed in the reader and the story itself fell flat. I never came to care about the characters and nothing rang true for me. Will I read any by this author again? Probably but I will avoid this reader for my audio books.
No, I love a good mystery but this wasn't one.
Someone who respects Texas and doesn't give us that west Texas twange...doesn't ring true for a character raised in north Texas.
Who chooses the reader? I cannot believe that the author was supportive of this choice.
Norah's characters always jump right out at you and grab your heart. I especially like being able to check in with the characters from the other titles in the series
Anyone but MacLeod Andrews. I almost quit listening to the book. I do not recall being annoyed with him in the previous book in the series but this time, his voice just rubbed me the wrong way. He makes some of the characters, especially Ryder, sound sinister. I am not sure what was different but he really ruined the story for me. I think he was trying to make Ryder sound macho but instead he came off sounding like the bad guy or a serial murderer....yuck and yuck. If Andrews reads the next book I am going to need to think long and hard about purchasing it in audio format.
Mr. Andrews should stick with suspense or mysteries and leave the romance titles to someone else.
I usually love Weiner's writing but this just fell flat for me. I feel as if she is just writing the same story over and over again. I had absolutely no empathy for any of characters and had to force myself to finish it. It was a disappointing use of my credits.
I was so excited to discover this new title by Jodie Picoult and so disappointed by the book. I loved My Sister's Keeper and Handle with Care just seemed like the same story with a different disease. The ending should have been a shocker but having read the former title, I was not shocked, surprised or even saddened. This is the first book by Picoult that I have not enjoyed and I hope that her next effort breaks new ground. All in all....a disappointment but I did listen to the entire audiobook hoping for something new. I will keep my hopes up for the next Picoult title.
