Enchanted by a powerful spell, Highland laird Drustan MacKeltar slumbered for nearly five centuries hidden deep in a cave, until an unlikely savior awakened him. The enticing lass who dressed and spoke like no woman he'd ever known was from his distant future, where crumbled ruins were all that remained of his vanished world.

Nice romance, mild suspense with time-travel historical basis. The male narrator is fabulous (I mean "wow" fabulous) with hero's voice, but it took some time getting used to his female lead's voice. I enjoyed the general time travel and romance story line, but the heroine's initial motive for romance was somewhat irritating (she wanted to get her "cherry plucked" - repeatedly noted).

Although part of a series - this story could easily stand alone. It was certainly good enough that I immediately purchased others in the series!

Ever since the death of his shellan, Tohrment has been unrecognizable from the vampire leader he once was. Physically emaciated and heartbroken beyond despair, he has been brought back to the Brotherhood by a self-serving fallen angel. Now, fighting once again with ruthless vengeance, he is unprepared to face a new kind of tragedy. When Tohr begins to see his beloved in his dreams - trapped in a cold, isolated netherworld far from the peace and tranquility of the Fade - he turns to the angel in hopes of saving the one he has lost.

I expect this won't be a popular opinion - but it's an honest one from my point of view. I think Ward's powerful romances between the brothers and their love-interests in the first novels are a strong factor that drew me in to this series. While there was sexual attraction, there was a distinct lack of romance in the relationship between Tohrment (sp?) and Autumn (No'one). In fact, there were a few uncomfortable scenes where Thor treated her poorly, shows her his disdain, and repeatedly stated he wasn't in love with her. So much so that when he finally declares his love for her, it's unconvincing. I missed the posessiveness ("MINE") and the "bonding scent" that was such a big part of the other brother's bonding with their mates. The motivation for the relationship between Tohr and Autumn (which I can't describe without spoilers) is another depressing aspect of the "romance" between the two.

On the plus side, Ward is highly talented at writing fast-paced, multi-faceted stories and you will certainly be entertained for the 20+ hours of this recording. There is a secondary relationship story between John and Xhex that will keep you riveted as well. Many newer characters are being developed (Band of Bastards) and while I'm not yet emotionally invested in them, Ward has established some interesting teasers/plants that I expect will be nicely developed in future novels. And, as always, the narrator is fantastic!

Miranda Puckett has failed at every job she’s ever had. Her mother just wants her to come home, join the family law firm, and settle down with Jason, the perfect lawyer boyfriend. But when Jason turns out to be a lying cheater, Miranda seizes on a job that gets her out of town: long-distance vampire transportation. Her first assignment is to drive vampire Collin Sutherland from Washington to sleepy Half Moon Hollow without incident—no small feat for a woman whom trouble seems to follow like a faithful hound dog!

Would you listen to Driving Mr. Dead again? Why?

No, but definitely enjoyable for one read.

What other book might you compare Driving Mr. Dead to and why?

All of Molly Harper's female leads could be interchanged. All are extremely witty/funny in a dysfunctional way.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laugh, yes. Lacks emotional depth or chemistry amongst the characters.

    Any additional comments?

Recommend for a quick, light read! The narrator is perfect for this book!

Gail Carriger created a fascinating steampunk vision of Victorian England in her “intoxicatingly witty” (Publishers Weekly, starred review) debut novel Soulless—the first in the best-selling Parasol Protectorate series. Changeless is the second in the series and finds Alexia Tarabotti, now the Lady Woolsey, quite put out after her werewolf husband goes missing. So, armed with her trusty parasol, Alexia boards a dirigible and heads for Scotland to find him.

I found the book to be highly enjoyable until the end. I hate cliffhangers. If I buy a book, I want the WHOLE story! In my opinion, a good character driven series doesn't need a cliffhanger to get you to buy the next book. This book was very good but I feel ripped off. Fortunately, the 3rd in the series is alreadyavailable and I don't have to wait a year for the next one. But, I will check reviews to see if book 3 also ends in a cliffhanger before I buy.

When Kayla Grey is caught in a fierce snowstorm in Montana, she is rescued by the very man she'd come to find. Cal was a true cowboy and also the brother of the man who'd wanted to marry her. But she didn't discover that until too late - after they'd kissed by a roaring fire and Kayla felt a desire she'd never known.

If you're expecting the level of writing that Brockmann displays in the Trouble Shooters/Navy Seals series - you'll be very disappointed. Otherwise, it was an easy read, good enough to keep your attention - albeit a little slow in a few parts.

The narrator is a good story teller and competent with both male and female voices.

Sometimes in life you need a little breathing room, especially when your life has just fallen apart. Dr. Isabel Favor, America's diva of self help, knows this all too well. She's lost her fiancé to an earth mother, her accountant has absconded with her money, and her self-help empire is in shambles. She flees the country to Tuscany, waiting for life to settle down, but the biggest disaster lies just ahead. On one unforgettable night, she's about to meet Lorenzo Gage, Hollywood's favorite villain.

SEP is remarkably talented in developing characters, even those who are flawed, in a very endearing way. I like that both lead characters are very strong individuals and enjoyed the very witty dialogue between the two (most notably after their 2nd meeting).

Anna Fields (Kate Fleming) is the most enjoyable narrator I've ever listened to. I highly recommend listening to anything she's narrated! I grieved when I heard she died in a rain/flood related accident in Seattle, and will forever miss hearing her narrate new books.

I think I keep buying Krentz novels because I loved her early work. The key characters in this novel supposedly have high level paranormal powers, which are talked about frequently, but when demonstrated they are very ho hum. Krentz's heroes have been so formulaic with the arcane novels that they're indistinguishable. I could live with that - but they're so mild mannered most of the time that they edge on boring, so I don't understand the repetition. The key to the supposed chemistry between the hero and heroine seems to be "we're both so wierd, there's no one else we could match with".

On the plus side, the narrator is good!

It seems like an easy assignment for an assertive but sweet woman like Gracie Snow: track down her friend, Bobby Denton, a famous ex-jock, and bring him to Heaven (Texas, that is) to shoot a movie. How could he refuse a glamorous offer like that? Easy....

I've read all SEP books and LOVE this reader. After you get past the ugly duckling aspect and fact that the hero at one point even refers to the heroine as a mercy f**k, the heroine becomes more interesting and the story becomes very enjoyable.

Great book - ties up lots of loose ends in the series. I really missed Marguerite Gavin as the narrator though. If this one had taken the time to listen to a previous audio version to at least get the pronunciations correct - it might have been acceptable.
