As autumn descends upon Three Pines, a stranger is found murdered in the village bistro and antiques store at the center of town. No one admits to knowing the murdered man, but as secrets are revealed, chaos begins to close in on the beloved bistro owner, Olivier. What past did he leave behind, and why has he buried himself in this tiny village?

I thought the reading was flawless, thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought the story left room for waffling.. as if the next book is going to begin on a clue which exonerates the character the crime is pinned on, depending on the public's outcry over the choice of the guilty party.
I was not happy with the ending, but I do love the reader.

It's Dan Calebow's worst nightmare: Phoebe Somerville, a trendy New York knockout, inherits the Chicago Stars, the football team he coaches. And she wants to help him run it. Phoebe's sure he needs her. He's a sexist good-ol'-boy jock with a one-track mind. Surely she can straighten him out.

What could Susan Elizabeth Phillips have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

It would have made for a longer book.. but Phoebe should have escaped from the gazebo.. and there should have been marks on Dan's face from her nails.

What about Anna Fields’s performance did you like?

I love this reader. Honestly, she is simply amazing. I don't know how she can manage to carry on so seamlessly and with such style hour after hour.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    Absolutely not.

    Any additional comments?

I wish I'd skipped this book, but I love the others in the series. And I wish there'd been a warning label on it that some content might not be appropriate for people who've experienced violent rape.
