"This said it is unabriged, but is it"
As usual, a good story by Ruth Rendell...but I recognize it from a much longer story in which we see the murders, the sealing up of the door, the artists and his girlg\friend 30 years before, and much more which I shall not give away. So, I am not sure what is going on.
If you are a Ruth Rendell reader, I assure you - you have read this.
"One of her best"
I am a fan of Val McDermid, and especially the Tony Hill, Carol Jordan works. This is one of her best, continuing the story of Tony, Carol and her team in Bradford.
Tony makes one of the worst mistakes of his life!
Wonderful mastery of the characters.
Not your average serial killer, take a friend to see it with you.
"You go a long way before a story"
I love Jefferson Bass and always anticipate his new books. But-this is just too long, drawn out, and frankly you begin not to care. Tom Stechschute is as always great, but the French accent is grating.
No, try one of the prior books, they are wonderful.
Great, except for the French accent. Ugh.
Stop going backwards and forwards.
Will await his next book.
"If you like simile after simile..."
You will like the book. Minimal dialogue, excessive filler.
Even though this is an
The performance was good, just the material to work with.
Will listen to Blind Descent and Super Death again to get this out of my mind.
"Racing fan or not..."
Will move you, educate you, entertain you and make you feel part of this amazing adventure and the intriguing people involved. When finished, check UTube to watch actual footage of the races. The story of Seabiscuit will stay with you for a long time. More than worth your credits.
