Andy Carpenter gains possession of an adorable Bernese puppy whose owner was brutally murdered. Few can rival Andy's affection for dogs, and he will do whatever it takes to insure that this little pup doesn't fall into the wrong hands. However, his playful new friend is valued by several people, many of whom are willing to resort to violence to get what they want.It will take more than Andy's usual courtroom theatrics to save this dog, including a little help from his beloved Golden Retriever, Tara.

I tried a few times to get into this book. I do most of my listening out on walks and with this one I continually found myself thinking of other things and then having to backtrack the story to try and make some sense of it. Also the main character is constantly making smart ass comments, most of which are not really funny, and this I found really annoying and a put off. As a result I did not finish it.

The eagerly anticipated follow-up to The Two of Us, this is a moving, honest, and charming account of life after John Thaw, read by Sheila herself.

"Well now, prove it, Sheila. As John would say, 'Put your money where your mouth is. Be a depressed widow boring the arse off everyone, or get on with life. Your choice.'"

This is a sequel to 'The Two of us'. Really enjoyed it. Ms hancock is a great narrator of her own personal story after the death of John Thaw.

With the Rolling Stones, Keith Richards created the riffs, the lyrics and the songs that roused the world, and over four decades he lived the original rock-and-roll life: taking the chances he wanted, speaking his mind, and making it all work in a way that no one before him had ever done. Now, at last, the man himself tells us the story of life in the crossfire hurricane. And what a life....

If you grew up in the 60's and followed the Stones then this is a must. Its very long and if it was a real book I would have skipped bits, especially the sometimes long winded parts where he describes in great detail his guitar learning/playing, but this will appeal to guitarists I suppose. Overall I found it very interesting and certainly saw many aspects of "behind the scenes" that I was not aware of, like how they regarded each other, how he regarded the other Stones members skills and morals, what they did on tour and at home etc.

"Buy my stepfather's ghost, read the e-mail." So Jude did. He bought it, in the shape of the dead man's suit, delivered in a heart-shaped box, because he wanted it - because his fans ate up that kind of story. It was perfect for his collection: the genuine skulls and the bones, the real honest-to-God snuff movie, the occult books, and all the rest of the paraphernalia that goes along with his kind of hard/goth rock.

I am an hour and a half in and struggling to keep going.
Talk about the dead dragging the living down, thats what the narration is doing to me. I find it slow and dreary and hard to concentrate on the story.

A mysterious incident in Russia, a blip buried in the news - it’s the only warning humanity receives that civilization will soon be destroyed by a single, voracious virus that creates monsters of men. A lawyer, still grieving over the death of his young wife, begins to write as a form of therapy. But he never expected that his anonymous blog and journal would ultimately record humanity’s last days. Governments scramble to stop the zombie virus, people panic, so-called Safe Havens are established, the world erupts into chaos; soon it’s every man, woman, and child for themselves.

But there were many times I shouted aloud in frustration…why? It seemed that every time they got in a vehicle it shot off at great speed, and guess what happened every time…they crashed/ran into or nearly ran into something/someone. They left doors open, they didn't look behind them, they just didn't seem to learn from one minute to the next.

David Mitchell, who you may know for his inappropriate anger on every TV panel show except Never Mind the Buzzcocks, his look of permanent discomfort on C4 sex comedy Peep Show, his online commenter-baiting in The Observer or just for wearing a stick-on moustache in That Mitchell and Webb Look, has written a book about his life.

I like david mitchell, i like his cleverness, i like his wit and timing, i like his honesty and his ranting on a myriad of subjects. His voice can be a bit grating but is minor compared to the rest. I also like the way he weaved his story around his walk around London.

Well hello to you dear audiobook browser. Now I have your attention it would be rude if I didn't tell you a little about my literary feast. So, here is the thing: is it just me or does anyone else find that adulthood offers no refuge from the unexpected horrors, peculiar lack of physical coordination and sometimes unexplained nudity, that accompanied childhood and adolescence? I am proud to say I have a wealth of awkward experiences - from school days to life as an office temp - and here I offer my 18-year-old self (and I hope you, too, dear listener) some much needed caution and guidance on how to navigate life's rocky path.

I like Miranda and her story, but not her constant discussion with her 18 year old self using 2 voices. There was just too much of it and I only lasted a couple of hours before it all wore a bit thin.

At a remote site in Minnesota, filmmaker Kurt Carpenter has built a secure compound and invited a select group of people to bunker down until the worst is over. The world into which they re-emerge is like nothing they've ever seen. At first they think they're the only ones left. But they soon find out how wrong they are. In the wasteland of what used to be America, their battle to survive is only just beginning.

There are few audible books I cannot finish, this was one of them.......and solely put off by the narrator. There are some narrators who when reading the female parts put on a voice that makes the female characters sound stupid, moronic, slow, etc etc, and this spoiled it for me and I could not keep listening. Do they really think women sound like that?
