What disappointed you about Speaks the Nightbird?

There was unnecessary vulgarity that was not relevant to the storyline. There was no need for several of the explicit scenes, which narrowed the book's appeal and made it totally inappropriate for younger readers.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I enjoyed the mystery in an interesting time period and setting.

After their New York Times best-selling series on the American Civil War, Newt Gingrich and William Forstchen now turn to the events leading up to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and examine how different decisions might have profoundly changed the history that unfolded.

    "Not What I Expected"
    Overall

The novel follows 3 main characters: an American Naval Intelligence Officer, a British spy, and a Japanese pilot. I enjoyed the history and character development, but I did not expect it to end with the Japanese doing MORE damage to Pearl Harbor than what was actually done. Definitely leaves you on a down note.

Stranger in a Strange Land tells the story of Valentine Michael Smith, an earthling born and educated on Mars, who arrives on Earth with superhuman powers and a total ignorance of the mores of man. Smith is destined to become a freak, a media commodity, a scam artist, a searcher, and finally, a messiah.

    "Disappointing"
    Overall

I read the reviews and expected more from this book. The first half of the book was facinating, but the storyline spiraled into total stupidity. All that hedonism and "Thou art god, I am god" nonsense ruins the second half of the book.

I cannot believe that Christopher Paolini is only 19 yrs old. He may actually be my favorite author! I wish "Eldest" was available. What a great book!

    "Great book"
    Overall

This book really brings to life some familiar bibilical stories in a new way. If the King James Version is difficult to understand, this book simplifies the essential stories. It is an outstanding companion to God's Word!

To survive in a game with no rules at all, John Corey must invent a strategy that includes no luck at all. He and the Anti-Terrorist Task Force must stop "The Lion," an alleged Libyan terrorist with the instincts of a wild animal, the bloodlust of a carnivore, and the boldness and speed of a cat of prey.

    Toni says: "Remarkable!"
    "Too Sympathetic for the Terrorist"
    Overall

A good story that hits home in light of recent events, BUT the author appears to be way too sympathetic to the terrorist who is killing Americans. I understand character development, but Demille paints the picture of a psychopath with an excuse for being a psychopath.
