Sotomayor is a horrible writer, and Moreno's voice is more irritating than Rachel Maddow.
No. I would prefer a root canal without novocaine.
She has a very irritating voice and she reads like we were 6th graders who barely understood English.
Disappointment. Sotomayor is literally a Horatio Alger success story, yet she whined through the whole book about how tough she had it...grew up poor, father died young, women are victims, blah, blah, blah. The fact is that the world has been her oyster...free ride to Princeton, free ride to Yale Law, appointment to the Federal bench specifically because she was Hispanic. But was she thankful, and encouraging others to use her as an example? Nope, she just kept on whining. Anyone. With an IQ greater than 55 think she would be a Supreme Court justice if she were NOT Hispanic?
How can anyone graduate a prestigious law school like Yale and NOT know what voire dire is?
This was a very interesting mystery, along the lines of "A Simple Plan," where every effort to solve a problem leads the characters deeper into trouble.
If you're in love with Obama, this book is for you.On the other hand, if you have been paying attention over the past 7-8 years, and know anything at all about Obama, you will know that Chuck Todd has based this book on half-truths and wishful thinking.
He just could not be bothered to be truthful.
I was very disappointed. As a conservative, I thought it would be useful to hear the liberal view, but this story Todd tells is at variance with the truth. I am angry that Todd relies on using partial truths to paint a picture of a competent president, when 6 years into his presidency, anyone who is honest can see the disaster Obama's policies have inflicted on America.
Save your money, unless you're an Obama Zombie.
Frank Muller is the absolute worst reader that Audible has used. Grisham's books are usually read by Michael Beck, and he is a super star. Love John Grisham and his body of work.
NO...his voice is irritating.
Riley pulls no punches as he systematically lays out the case for LESS government help to the black community, and MORE personal involvement by black parents and their kids. Pay attention in school. Don't worry about "acting white" because it is your ghetto mentality that is holding you back.
The fact that a black man whose parents were engaged in his upbringing has made it big in America. Riley faced pressured no different than the thugs who burn and loot, but his upbringing caused him to defy the odds and succeed.
Jackson read a Grisham book --- I like his cool, unhurried style.
No, but I have listened twice in a couple weeks. The book is filled with data and interesting anecdotes.
People who "feel sorry" for the plight of the black community, people who think unions like the NEA and the AFT are helping education, and people who think it is criminal that so many young black men are in prison need to listen to Riley - a successful black man - tell us the truth.
Let's face it - assholes are everywhere. This author, however, seems only to see assholes who are Republican, Conservative, or somehow involved with finance. Save your money unless you think Rachel Maddow is a genius...then this book is for you.
Arthur Morey is a great reader.
At the end of the day,, I have to wonder who was the bigger asshole - the author for putting out such a piece of sophomoric tripe, or me for spending my hard earned money.
Penetrating insights into the inner thoughts and actions of two of America's most powerful Democrat families
How Obama Fooled America - Twice
I did not buy the print version
There are no favorite characters in this book - it is all about the thugs who run American unions and the damage they do to all of us.
I appreciate that the author narrated the book - and he was not bad. However, I heartily recommend Dennis Boutsikaris for all audio books.
They Want YOUR Money.
This is a great follow up to Linda Chavez' book "Betrayal," and Peter Brimelow's book "The Worm in the Apple."
Anyone who reads this and still supports unions is just not right.
Unless you are a rabid tree hugging liberal who believes that Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are the salvation of America, this book is a waste of your money.
If your IQ is higher than Velcro shoe laces level, you'll be seriously disappointed by this analysis.
No - it really was not up to Levin's normal level of excellence. The data was factual (and frightening) but too dry.
