"Quite Interesting Indeed"
I did not think a word such as Asshole could be weaved into such a detailed and interesting piece.
1. I really liked the advice on how to deal with Assholes
2. Asshole Capitalism
3. That Asshole, as a group within society, actually do exist - it's like discovering "bigfoot"
4. Yeah, I have never seen or heard the word "Asshole" mentioned so many times in my entire life...that was compelling
The book went on in parts, but was balanced in others by some new insights. I was particularly intrigued by the whole idea of the psychology of asshole-ism. The entire book had me mentally re-visiting quite a few people from my past and in someways recasting there actions in the light of this newly acquired information. I now take much comfort in the fact that I was not just being overly sensitive...I was just really dealing with typical Assholes.
"Really Loved it!!"
I really love both history and mathematics, so this was the perfect read for me.
In college, I was so focused on problem solving, I wasn't able to step away from the text to really delve into the story behind the Geometry. This read affords me that chance and has me going back to some of my old text and rediscovering what I really love about mathematics.
Very much recommended for anyone who loves history and is fascinated by mathematics ;-)!
"Excellent, Revealing and Insightful Writing"
The sweep of this book is simply genius. The details and accessibility of otherwise arcane and boring medical material is clearly laid out in this book. I now have a pretty good understanding of this complicated and fearful decease of humanity. This is absolutely a must read for anyone who what to not just understand cancer, but an appreciation of the complexity of what it means to be human.
"Simply Awesome Writing..."
Well written, clear and well presented.
Rachel's clear command of the English language and her ability to crystalize dull historic events. I could listen to her forever.
The entire book is simply gripping. I pretty much listened to the entire book in one sitting.
Rachel Maddow has being one of the truly forthright, honest and clear voices in our political discourse. She is extremely smart and clearly knows what she is all about. She has always been on point...each and every time. Drift is a definite MUST READ!!!
"Awesome and Informative"
Informative, Interesting, Well-written
One of the most interesting and informative books I have read in a very long time.
It touched on such a broad array of areas that covered such diverse and often mundane topics such as market forces, economy, poverty, one could easily get lost.
The author undoubtedly is a great teacher - something rare of very smart people...the ability to impart to others what's in their minds. A must read!
"Anything but Stiff"
Probably one of the weirdest books I have every read; and I probably would not have purchased it, had it not been on sale.
I am glad I did, however, and must admit that I found it most interesting and admittedly engaging.
Ms Roach does have a knack for making the bizarre pretty accessible. If you ever had thoughts about donating your body to science or any other purpose, this book might give you pause or at least give you another thought point.
It is hard not to recommend, but be prepared for the unexpected…ruhaaahhaaaahh!
"Exquisite Writing"
Probably one of the most important books I have read. Its insights are quite profound; it was as if I was given the chance to look in on someone being emotionally dissected. Ms Didion is an exquisite writer who is almost godess-like in some respects.
Being able to stand back from the pain of deep loss and garnering the strength and courage to share that experience is telling.
I absolutely admire her for that. She is truly great and I very much recommend this book.
