This story just sucked me in. The twists and turns were perfect. I was both frustrated and relieved that it was to be continued: Frustrated because I have to wait for the rest and relieved that it wasn't over.
The publishers summary doesn't do the book any justice. I'm very excited about this book because it is the first book I've read in a while with a very unique plot. The book is a combination of fantasy, romance and mystery (the mystery is very slight, tho).
I can't wait for the next book. This author is going on my watch list, so I can grab up any book she writes in future.
The quality of the production was bad. The background noise was overly loud and there was music placed at odd intervals. My advice is to stick with the written book instead with this one.
This was such a disappointing ending. It was a long series, to a simple/quick climax with the villain, then a confusing and ambiguous ending. The series started out excellent. I loved all the other books and waited anxiously for this one. After listening, I was angry at wasting the credit on this book. At first I thought there must be another book coming, then discovered that this was the finale. What happened?! It felt like the author lost interest in the story and, instead of making any strong conclusions, just kind of stopped writing. Very unsatisfying.
I love Kelley Armstrong but this book seemed to stall. I think it was necessary to read to help move on to finale, but I was easily distracted while it played. Not the best book but I think it is leading to a great finale. I still can't wait for the next one. If you liked the first book and want to read/hear the last you need to listen to this one. Sorry
This was a great book. Very funny. Beware of the stares you will receive when you laugh out loud in public. I love Marcus best. I want a BFF just like him. The ending was good and the book was well worth the credit.
I loved this plot. It had Kyra Davis' usual wit that had me laughing out loud. Gabra Zackman does such a good job with the characters. When I reread Kyra Davis' first two books in the series I instinctively heard Gabra's voice in my head. I just couldn't stand the cliff-hanger. The other books in the series had a definate ending, but this one left me unsatisfied. Now I have to wait till next year for the results and conclusions. But, I'm hooked on Kyra Davis, so I will wait impatiently for it. If you haven't read the other books in her series you should read those first just to get some background on the characters but the plot does stand alone from the other books.
I loved how Tessa was portrayed as a human being. She wasn't noble or virtuous. She wasn't selflessly helping everyone around her come to terms with her disease. She was trying to come to terms with her diagnosis. I thought this made her seem more tangible. I really believed in her, which made the inevitable ending that much harder to get through.
All the characters were realistic and very well written and Charlotte Parry did an excellent job with all the different voices.
Hearing it read made the emotional connection that much stronger. It wasn't flat and dispassionate.
By the time I made it too the end of the book I was crying hard. You will cry too, but, the book is well worth the investment of time and credit. Trust me.
