Stephen King does a great job of starting the *real* conversation on gun violence in America. A must listen.
Elric of Melnibone is not easy to classify even within Fantasy. This is high fantasy with an edge. It's a dark tale but not without humor. It has some of the standard Sword and Sorcery elements but it reads more like literature than a swashbuckling tale. Moorcock doesn't write stories , he writes fictional histories. I've read and loved his books before so I was a little nervous about how this audiobook would sound. The narrator did a great job of delivering the material. Michael Moorcock himself gives us a brief preface that is fun to listen to but I was grateful when the real narrator started talking. One more thing, this what they called an "audio plus" book. It has music and small sound effects in the background at some portions of the tale. I found they matched the scenes they were used in perfectly. A well polished audiobook.
This is probably my all time favorite fantasy series that I read in book form previously. Nine Princes is the perfect first book for the series. The narrator did a good job but would have like to had Wil Wheaton to all 10 books of Amber. The story shines through though. Loved it.
Zelazny crafted a very orginal take on the Fantasy genre and the dialogue is great
I loved the ending of the story and the promise it holds for more
Get this, it's definitely worth the credit
Many books about the future only change 1 variable and leave everything else the same as today, so we can see the contrast. Hamilton presents a fully realized future human society that has to cope with the advanced technological and biological society that they find themselves in. Throw in some aliens, human greed and politics and you have a recipe for an SF epic. Loved it.
