Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared.....

Annie M. says: "Hillenbrand could make even laundry fascinating!"
    "Great book"
    Overall

This book has helped me realize, I don't read enough non-fiction. I had to remind myself at times that this was a true story. Makes one wonder how the story of Louie Zamperini???s dramatic life was not already told.

Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

Will Patton narrating Stephen King!! Go ahead and put me down for every book with this combo again audible. I re-read The Shining 2 months ago, knowing this book was coming out. Glad I did.

I've listened to a Will Patton performance of James Lee Burke's work every summer for a while. His narration is always perfect and always a great story to go along with it. Good stuff!

I will always remember watching the premiere of the Lonesome Dove mini-series with my Dad, during my teenage years. Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones were mesmerizing. I never got around to the books until recently. Finished the series with this one. Frank Muller was a narrating genius. Larry McMurtry is a literary genius. If I had to choose a favorite of the series this would be it!

    "Be careful!"
    Overall

So far in the first 3 chapters this Audio book has skipped 30 pages , continues to another part of the book and at the beginning of another chapter, it reverts back to the previous 30 skipped pages. Fortunately I have the print book version to verify. Probably why so many reviews say that there is a disjointment to the listening. I emailed Audible about this, we'll see if there is a fix. Enjoy the book so far but hard to find where I should be listening. UGGHHH!! I hope I didn't waste 2 credits! Help Audible!!!!!!!!!!!

The King of Wit does it again! Great book! DeMille does John Corey so well. Just wish it was a longer book so I could enjoy it longer!
