If the story was entertaining.
Anything except this.
Stephen does the best with the material he has.
I was happy when it was over.
I know I'm alone in my feelings on this "classic" but I was bored out of my mind. I listen to books when I'm driving back and forth to work and there were three times at least that I almost fell asleep listening to this thing. The story is dull and moves at a snails pace. If I didn't know better I would say the author was filling up the time in the book to reach a certain word count. He repeats things over and over, I'm assuming for affect, but to me, it was because there is not enough story there.
I'm going to listen to Gone Girl again to wipe the nasty taste of this out of my head.
It got real preachy towards the end.
If it wasn't an audio book and if it were not for Mark, I most likely would not have finished this one.
The story is not bad, it's just not very memorable. In a year I won't remember any of it.
Like most books on this subject, no actual information is given, it's all about hyping you up so you'll buy the package they want to sell for $4,500
Tell me tips I can use
Hype man extraordinare
Please suggest a book on the subject that gives you information you can use.
The voice talent is incredible
Devin. His inner voice was fun and curious.
Devin. Michael really breathed life into the character, giving him subtlety.
When Mike talks to Devin after his mother leaves the room
It was not at all what I expected out of a King book and more than I thought it would be.
I felt as though the story was engaging and the characters was interesting. The voice over talent was top notch. What I didn't like was the way the story came together at the end, it all felt rushed and obvious.
It was sooo close to being great, that's what was frustrating.
A better story
Uninspired, lethargic, dull
The female lead, her character was so one dimensional, I can't even remember her name.
Add a warning for people who may have fond memories of the 70's film and be looking at this as a fun light escape and tell them, WARNING, this is NOTHING like the fun film, this audio book is more like a cure for insomnia.
No. Only because you can not hear or understand Christopher half the time.
It's not that kind of book
God is Not Great and Christopher is not a vocal professional.
Listen to the reading and you decide for yourself. Then offer the book with another person reading it and I'll buy that book.
No, I would not. The story was dull and uninspired. I was hoping for something more. The characters are flat and 1 dimensional at best.
Richard is far and away one of the smartest people on the planet
No, in fact, it's turned me on to more Richard Dawkins books.
The material is so deep and thick, I don't know if I would have been able to read it as a book. Hearing them speak the words and place emphasis where it needed to be and pause when it needed it was invaluable.
Intelligence over fantasy
