Laura Hillenbrand beautifully renders this breathtaking saga of one horse's journey from also-ran to national luminary. Seabiscuit: An American Legend is an inspiring tale of unlikely heroes, a classic story of three embattled individuals overcoming the odds in the Great Depression.

Tsk Tsk! Not only is this ABRIDGED, but the narration is pedestrian.

Tennessee Williams: Mad Pilgrimage of the Flesh gives intimate access to the mind of one of the most brilliant dramatists of his century, whose plays reshaped the American theater and the nation's sense of itself. This astute, deeply researched biography sheds a light on Tennessee Williams's warring family, his guilt, his creative triumphs and failures, his sexuality and numerous affairs, his misreported death, even the shenanigans surrounding his estate.

Now at last Keith Richards pauses to tell his story in the most anticipated autobiography in decades. And what a story! Listening obsessively to Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters records in a coldwater flat with Mick Jagger and Brian Jones, building a sound and a band out of music they loved. Finding fame and success as a bad-boy band, only to find themselves challenged by authorities everywhere....

If you could sum up Life in three words, what would they be?

    Surprisingly moving., touching..

Would you recommend Life to your friends? Why or why not?

There is more to Keith and friends than Woodstock Nation---LIFE is actually moving, richly described...and a chance to see, hear and understand how much our culture and our music was enriched during their years. Give it a try...but don't start it as you are going to sleep....you will be awake all night!

President of the United States Donald Vanderdamp is having a hell of a time getting his nominees appointed to the Supreme Court. After one nominee is rejected for insufficiently appreciating To Kill A Mockingbird, the president chooses someone so beloved by voters that the Senate won't have the guts to reject her.

    Jim says: "Comic Relief"
    "Buckley/Heche/subject matter A HIT!"
    Overall

I'm a fan of C.Buckley. Love how he uses irony to poke fun at government--both conservative and liberal. And Ann Heche was a surprise to me. I cannot imagine any other narrator so fully capturing our "heroine"'s essence. And she "GOT" Buckley's point of view to the letter. I'm thinking of "gifting" Ms. Sotomayer with the audio book. I'm sure she'd get a kick out of it. Sure, the legal constraints, rules, cases are all fictionalized, but that's the fun. That's the ART! Have fun with this book!
