After graduating from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, writer Kathleen Flinn returned with no idea what to do next, until one day at a supermarket she watched a woman loading her cart with ultraprocessed foods. Flinn's "chefternal" instinct kicked in: she persuaded the stranger to reload with fresh foods, offering her simple recipes for healthy, easy meals.

What a great read. The author totally demystifies cooking and helps the reader embrace home cooking. After listening this book, I have increased my cooking skills and decreased the money I spend on food! I had no idea how easy cooking was! The only thing I wish is that they made a pdf of the recipes and cheat sheet for followup cooking!!!

Whether Christmas is a time of unbridled joy, a season of past reflections, or an ordeal to be endured until the return to normalcy after the New Year, its impact is pervasive in most of our lives. Everyone's feelings are super sensitized, every emotion is heightened. The happy become giddy, the sad become despondent, the lonely become lonelier – unless, yes unless – the magic of Christmas has its way. So it is for the characters in these stories.

This is a great book of short stories about wonderful, everyday Christmas stories! Each story is unique- and full of holiday wonder. My favorite was the story about the party in the Village. As I listened I felt like I was there at the party and my heart ached for the neighbor. The ending was unexpected and made me think about the people who live near me and how we really don't take time to know our neighbors. A truly wonderful book!
