What did you like best about this story?

From the beginning I just wanted to see what happens next. I had my ears plugged in all day and night. I fell asleep the first night with the book on and tried to wake up and listen to more but could not. The next morning I started the book again and listened to it to it's end. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Mickey Haller gets the text, "Call me ASAP - 187," and the California penal code for murder immediately gets his attention. Murder cases have the highest stakes and the biggest paydays, and they always mean Haller has to be at the top of his game. When Mickey learns that the victim was his own former client, a prostitute he thought he had rescued and put on the straight and narrow path, he knows he is on the hook for this one. He soon finds out that she was back in LA and back in the life.

What did you love best about The Gods of Guilt?

I know stories will sometimes 'set the scene' and I usually enjoy and appreciate that part of the book. It seems this 'setup' took longer than normal but do not give up on it! It is worth the wait! Excellent wrap up and ending. I had been on the fence with the 'Lincoln Lawyer' series but the second half of this book makes me look forward to more.

James Patterson's scariest, sexiest stand-alone thriller since The Quickie. Ben isn't like most people. Unable to control his racing thoughts, he's a man consumed by his obsessions: movies, motorcycles, presidential trivia - and Diana Hotchkiss, a beautiful woman Ben knows he can never have. When Diana is found dead outside her apartment, Ben's infatuation drives him on a hunt to find out what happened to the love of his life.

The book and story was really bad. I could not even finish the first part. Very disappointed in James Patterson. I am a big fan of his but not this book.

Growing up with telepathic abilities, Sookie Stackhouse realized early on there were things she'd rather not know. And now that she's an adult, she also realizes that some things that she knows about, she'd rather not see—like Eric Northman feeding off another woman. A younger one. There's a thing or two she'd like to say about that, but she has to keep quiet—Felipe de Castro, the Vampire King of Louisiana (and Arkansas and Nevada), is in town.

I have listened to them all and in no particular order and enjoyed every one. I know some listeners believe the series should end but not me. Deadlocked is more like a tv series season finale; a cliffhanger leaving you wanting more. I can not wait until next season. Johanna Parker has the perfect accent for Sookie, who grew up in Louisiana. Without her narration, the stories might not be so easy listening.

When I listened to book 2, Private #1 Suspect, of this series I submitted a review and announced my love for the series. After listening to book 3, Private Games, I decided to back track and submit a review for the 1st book, Private, so anyone looking at the reviews could see my devotion from the beginning. The series has just enough of a spin on crime solving that it is unique and refreshing. I also enjoy how advanced technology assists in solving crimes. Mostly, I enjoy the characters.

Claire DeWitt is not your average private investigator. She has brilliant skills of deduction and is an ace at discovering evidence. But Claire also uses her dreams, omens, and mind-expanding herbs to help her solve mysteries, and relies on Détection—the only book published by the great and mysterious French detective Jacques Silette before his death.

The story was good but getting to the end was difficult. I appreciated how the revelation of the shooter came about and the justification of eliminating the bad guy. I typically do not mind rough language but the repetition of such was uncomfortable for me. I would not recommend the book to my friends.

She's young. She's beautiful. And her corpse, laid out in the office of Boston medical examiner Cat Novak, betrays no secrets - except for a notebook clutched in one stiff hand, seven numbers scrawled inside. When a second victim is discovered, Cat begins to fear that a serial killer is stalking the city streets: a shadowy madman without mercy or apparent motive. The police are sceptical. The mayor won't listen. And Cat's chief suspect is one of the city's most prominent citizens.

John Carr, aka Oliver Stone-once the most skilled assassin his country ever had-stands in Lafayette Park in front of the White House, perhaps for the last time. The president has personally requested that Stone serve his country again on a high-risk, covert mission. Though he's fought for decades to leave his past career behind, Stone has no choice but to say yes. Then Stone's mission changes drastically before it even begins. It's the night of a state dinner honoring the British prime minister.
