Take a wonderfully crazed excursion into the demented heart of a tropical paradise - a world of cargo cults, cannibals, mad scientists, ninjas, and talking fruit bats. Our bumbling hero is Tucker Case, a hopeless geek trapped in a cool guy's body, who makes a living as a pilot for the Mary Jean Cosmetics Corporation.

This is my least favorite of Christopher Moore's titles. It was just so out there and a little hard to follow at times. I liked it... but didn't love it.

The best-selling author of When The Bough Breaks, Blood Test, and Over The Edge delivers the most stunning novel yet, featuring psychologist-detective Dr. Alex Delaware. At a party for a controversial Los Angeles sex therapist, Alex encounters a face from his own past - Sharon Ransom, an exquisite, alluring lover who left him abruptly more than a decade earlier. Sharon now hints that she desperately needs help, but Alex evades her. The next day she is dead, an apparent suicide.

Typical Alex Delaware novel. I did have a tiny bit of a problem following around 3/4's of the way through.. but I think that was just me. LOL Nice twists. I recommend.

Her name is Elise Freeman, and her chilling cry for help to whoever may be listening comes too late to save her. On a DVD found near her lifeless body, the emotionally and physically battered woman chronicles a year-and-a-half-long ordeal of monstrous abuse at the hands of three sadistic tormentors. But even more shocking than the lurid details is the revelation that the offenders, like their victim, are teachers at one of L.A.s most prestigious prep schools.

I really liked it. There is always a twist in these books that I don't see coming. The narration was lacking in a few places. It's like it didn't match. However, you could get past that:-) I recommend this book.

To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare, woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, she has endured a tumultuous year of temptation, loss, and strife to reach the ultimate turning point.

It just seems to me that Stephanie Meyer is an immature writer. It's as if she throws big words in to make it seem more intense or something. It sucked me in in spite of the immature nature of her writing. The movies are much better.

I liked it. I would recommend it. There were some places where the narration was off. Almost liked they pieced together parts. It was distracting, but brief. :-) It was kind of a conspiracty theory book and I didn't see where it was going. It's a good "read."

Among dog lovers, she's a legend for the risks she'll take to save an animal from abuse. Among her friends, Amy's heedless devotion is often cause for concern. To widower Brian McCarthy, whose commitment she can't allow herself to return, Amy's behavior is far more puzzling and hides a shattering secret.

This is my first experience with reading (listening) to a Dean Koontz book. Not super eager to listen to another one and slower than I expected. Right when I thought I had enough, something would happen that would peak my interest. Worth listeningt to, but not making into a priority.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

I had no idea what to expect, but I loved this book from the beginning. I loved Nate's character and the narrating was great... except for the part of Veep(Veek?). It was just not... great. However, it only took a little bit away from the book and the rest of the narrating was wonderful. I totally recommend this book:-) It has me thinking still and I like that.

The hero of John Kennedy Toole's incomparable, Pulitzer Prize-winning comic classic is one Ignatius J. Reilly, "huge, obese, fractious, fastidious, a latter-day Gargantua, a Don Quixote of the French Quarter". His story bursts with wholly original characters, denizens of New Orleans' lower depths, incredibly true-to-life dialogue, and the zaniest series of high and low comic adventures.

In July 1890, Vincent van Gogh went into a cornfield and shot himself. Or did he? Why would an artist at the height of his creative powers attempt to take his life... and then walk a mile to a doctor's house for help? Who was the crooked little "color man" Vincent had claimed was stalking him across France? And why had the painter recently become deathly afraid of a certain shade of blue? These are just a few of the questions confronting Vincent's friends who vow to discover the truth of van Gogh's untimely death.

The book was well written and the narration was incredible. If you liked "Fools" I think you'll love this book, but it was my least favorite Christopher Moore books. It's possible I'm not sophisticated enough for this book, but I didn't really enjoy it and almost didn't get to the end. It just wasn't as fun for me as many of his other books.
