Jimmy

The Tolkien series is one of my favorite reads and to narrow down any one piece would be impossible to do. I am delighted to finally find these books performed in an unabridged manner on Audible! Rob Inglis did a wonderful job on the narration, and I found myself once again transported to the wilds of Middle Earth on a great exploration.

The Hobbit, the Fellowship of the Ring, and The Return of the King are all pieces of the same saga.

At first I was doubtful that Rob would be able to overcome the characters that Peter Jackson created in his film renditions of the Lord of the Rings series. I was very pleasantly surprised, however, as I became fascinated with Rob's portrayal of the characters. His singing voice is lovely and he was able to really pull off the characters.

If you love fantasy, you will not regret selecting this series. It will be an annual listening experience for me!

The Book of Mormon is very dear to my heart and I love the story very much. It is a comfort and lift in my life.

As it is scripture, I love the words of admonition and encouragement it give me.

The biggest distraction was the way the verses are presented. I did not like that he repeated the chapter and verse number before each verse was read. It would have been less distracting and more enjoyable for him to simply read the chapter notes then to read continuously through the chapter.

There are too many moments to list even one specific one.

What a disappointment! After the amazing Harry Potter series, this book was a horrible work. It was dark and disturbing without one ray of sunshine. There was no mystery, no intrigue, and the entire first half was focused on the gossip of a small town. Then when you think it might actually redeem itself, it gets worse. If you like filthy language, sick and twisted humanity, perhaps you will enjoy this. I did not find it to be an enjoyable read.

It might have been better if there had been some kind of clear hero, but every character was disturbing in their lack of integrity. I hate to think any town would be so totally lacking in goodness.

If this is the trend she is taking, absolutely not. The next book would have to be vetted by a healthy sample before I invest any of my money in it.

The narration was okay but not something to get lost in.

Not really; I had to force myself to read this one. There are so many good works of fiction available that I only finished reading this one out of loyalty to my opinion of Rowling's work.

Although I had seen the movie many years ago, the book was riveting and had some unexpected twists that delighted me. Will Patton is one of my favorite readers, and with Deliverance, he did not disappoint. Action, suspense, and courage are woven into a timeless tale.

One of my favorite moments in this book was Ed's awakening as he blends into the mist stalking his first deer. That scene outlines the awakening courage and determination that belongs only to this quiet, determined man. From out of the mist, he becomes a warrior.

Will Patton is captivating in his ability to tell a story. His voice is pleasing to the ear and he has the story-tellers uncanny skill at making you forget that you are listening and begin only to see the tale unfold.

Ed was my favorite character in this story. While he is not much to look upon, he has a compassionate heart, a grounded sense of self, and a raw courage that enables him to survive and lead others to safety.
