I love Betty White and she is just as bright and chipper in this book as in her TV shows. I have to believe that she must be a delightful person. Hope when I'm 90+ that I have her wisdom and enthusiasm for life. It isn't your typical autobiography but it is interesting and fun to listen to her describe some of the events in her long and eventful life. She loves pets and is always bringing new ones into her home. Hope we never get too old to adopt needy pets. She just makes you feel happy.

Would you listen to Obsession in Death again? Why?

Probably just because I like the narrator and I like Eve and Roark. But, the story of this one seemed off to me. The killer talked more than usual to self and I didn't like the way the killer acted. I still like the series but this one just hit me wrong.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes. I didn't figure out who the killer was but as the story progressed, it just kept unraveling until I began to not care since I was sure Eve would figure it out. It didn't have as much mystery as earlier books. Still good but everyone seemed harder.

    Which scene was your favorite?

When Eve came home and punched out the new droid. It's always fun to hear the exchange between Eve and Roark....no matter what they are doing. Take care of my cop is one of my favorite lines.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Only reaction I had was that I wasn't sure I liked it. Hard to explain why it hit me that way.

A decidedly unusual pairing, half-breed sorceress Armecia and her constantly stoned sidekick, Sir Leonard of Savhael, join forces with a cowardly church vassal and a giantess posing as a nun. Their quest? To catch and kill Zeigfried, a fiery - if not too fearsome - dragon.

What made the experience of listening to Humane Killer the most enjoyable?

The narrator was good and made the characters interesting. I don't guess I care for fantasy like this. I bought it because of Diana and her son but it isn't a story type that I like.

Would you recommend Humane Killer to your friends? Why or why not?

No. I think most of my friends would not like it.

Which character – as performed by Jill Tanner – was your favorite?

I liked the sorcerer but really none of the characters grabbed me. I found that it didn't really matter to me what happened to any of them. I was glad to see the dragon didn't die.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Nothing extremely good or bad. I'll try another book by Sam Sykes.

Since he left his simple life in the small town of Pico Mundo, California, his journey has taken him to places strange and wonderful, mysterious and terrifying. Across the land, in the company of mortals and spirits alike, he has known kindness and cruelty, felt love and loss, saved lives and taken them - as he's borne witness to humanity's greatest good and darkest evil.

Where does Saint Odd rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It was good but I was happy for it to end. I got tired of Odd Thomas and his attitudes. That is a compliment to Dean Koontz who embued him with that strong moral streak.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Saint Odd?

When Odd came to grips with his purpose and realized he was moving down a path to his destiny.

What about David Aaron Baker’s performance did you like?

Yes. I liked the narrator very much. He gave the correct voice to Odd and the other characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I almost did finish it in one day but had to stop until the next day. I find this of all books written by Koontz. He grabs the reader with his first line and doesn't let go.

What did you love best about The Cider House Rules?

I loved the quirky characters. Every word written was perfect for the situation. How abortion and the pros and cons can be presented without judgment just made it better. Homer is conflicted but Dr. Larch finds a way to make him of use.

What other book might you compare The Cider House Rules to and why?

I'm not a book reviewer but this book has everything, humor, sadness, death but even turning that into good. His characters have a strength not found easily. It reminds me of Ken Follett Century Trilogy and Wuthering Heights. Irving is a gifted writer.

Have you listened to any of Grover Gardner’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was my first book by Grover Gardner and I liked him. Wish he was narrating all of Irving's books.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, it had me laughing out loud at times like when Wally socks Homer for his continued use of saying "right" to everything. This book has it all, love of a parent, a child, the nurses care of the orphans, the responsibility of different sets of rules being applied at different times. It is very complicated but so are the issues discussed. You hope all along that Homer does what is right for all,and ultimately he does.

    Any additional comments?

This is a book that should be required reading by every high school student. A way to,make us think about huge issues but in a rational way. Someone must be available to help women.

Book Two in the madcap time-travel series based at the St Mary's Institute of Historical Research that seems to be everyone's cup of tea. What made the experience of listening to A Symphony of Echoes the most enjoyable?

The narrator depicts Max with perfect humor. When things get back for St. Mary's, they just put on the tea pot and discuss it all. No task is too daunting, not even blood on the stones.

What other book might you compare A Symphony of Echoes to and why?

Dr. Who and other time travel stories are all similar but this series is special because of the history aspect, and Max and her historians. She brings you into her world with gusto.

    Which scene was your favorite?

No one specific. They are all good in their way and each transport is unique and different.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

And the world went white---and then they land somewhere else.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, yes, and yes. I love this series. Get book 1 and start the mad adventure of Max, Peterson, Leon and the other crazy historians at St. Mary's. You have to read it to know. Every story is a different adventure. The pod is their mode of transport like Dr. Who uses a phone booth.

What other book might you compare A Trail Through Time to and why?

Dr. Who comes to mind with the spinning phone booth winding up somewhere else. At least the pods are programmed for their destination.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Not a particular one but I do like the History Muse who shows up to tell Max to get on with her next special tour.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

And the world goes white....just before you land somewhere else.

    Any additional comments?

These books are exceptionally good. They are light with minimal sex scenes for those who prefer fantasy, and you don't really miss them. Max and Leon do 'get together' but you don't have to suffer through it with them. These are just good fun books for those who can suspend reality and enjoy fantasy.

What made the experience of listening to A Second Chance the most enjoyable?

It was the third book in this fabulous series of Max and the historians going back in time to see things confirmed or to see things that didn't happen as history states. The characters are crazy and fun. You must suspend your belief in fixed reality and just go with the flow. Max and Leon are terrific. The entire St. Mary's staff is wonderful. I will listen to this series again and again.

What other book might you compare A Second Chance to and why?

These are as good as Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson series or any of Laura Vosika's time traveling Scot. It is just a fun read and Jodi Taylor is a hoot to have come up with this.

Have you listened to any of Zara Ramm’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listened to the other books in this series and enjoy her portrayal of the characters. I like an English accent and Ms. Ramm does an excellent job.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I chuckled in a few places but her descriptions of the pod when they enter and the return to St. Mary's are always funny. It is just a feel good book.

    Any additional comments?

Can't wait for the next book in the series.

Where does Wild Rain rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I rank it in the top 20. I love this series by Christine Feehan. I bought them in paperback first and then got them in audio. This story is about Rachael who is escaping from her family into the rain forest. She doesn't know she is a leopard. The story unfolds when she meets Rio and then....the lust begins. The characters cross over from early books and continue into the later books of which there are now six. I have them all.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Wild Rain?

When Rachael first realizes that Rio is leopard and then she realizes that she is one as well. It is a good story and like the other paranormal love stories. Feehan makes you want more.

Have you listened to any of Renée Raudman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I like all of her narrations. She is a very talented narrator.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I've listened to it at least twice and will listen more. I like the stories and the characters and the sexy men who become leopard. Makes my heart go pitter patter.

Alayna Withers' relationship with Hudson Pierce has tested both her and his ability to trust. They decide that the only way they can move forward together is with open doors and transparency. It won't be easy for the scarred lovers, but they're committed to each other more now than ever. Alayna, in particular, has grown through their trials, and has emerged more confident and faithful to the man she loves. But while the pair is focused on the future, their past shows up again to threaten their fragile bond.

If you could sum up Forever with You in three words, what would they be?

Trust your feelings. They love each other and must get through some bad times to know that they do love each other enough to address their secrets together.

What other book might you compare Forever with You to and why?

This is probably like a lot of books about love and obsession and sex but none come to mind. I found the issues that Alayne and Hudson address refreshing in that they know they have problems, he knows he screwed up, and she knows he screwed up, but they love each other and will find a way to be together.

What does Carly Robins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She makes the characters live in the listener's mind. Her ability to convey the pain and lust they feel is not possible when read in print.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

A couple of places I wanted to throw it across the room but since I was listening on my iPad I resisted. It was a good book.

Alayna Withers has only had one kind of relationship: the kind that makes her obsessive and stalker-crazy. Now that Hudson Pierce has let her into his heart, she's determined to break down the remaining walls between them so they can build a foundation that's based on more than just amazing sex. Except Hudson's not the only one with secrets. What did you love best about Found in You?

I liked the way Alayne and Hudson understood each other's weaknesses and still were able to love each other. The way they met and then the way they overcame the flaws in their characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Found in You?

I liked the way that Hudson let Alayne knew his love was for her. He had never had a woman in his penthouse but he asked her to move in. I liked the way the book started out and the way their love for each other deepened. You could see them both grow more secure.

Which character – as performed by Carly Robins – was your favorite?

Alayne was my favorite. Even though she was damaged, she was aware of her limits and sought out her therapist when she felt herself spinning out of control. She was much stronger than she believed and this became more revealed as the story continues. This is the second book in the series of three but may be my favorite.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I always want to listed to a book in one sitting. I like the way the characters get into your psyche and make you want to learn more about them.

    Any additional comments?

I like Alayne and Hudson and know anyone who likes romance and flawed characters who still manage to stay together with like these books. There are explicit sex scenes so some who prefer plain themes may not enjoy.
