I have never been able to decide on a favorite book, but sometimes I think it is Jane Eyre. I could praise the book, but I am going to assume that most people reading these reviews is more interested in the narrator.
I have listened to Jane Eyre once before, and I thought the voice for Jane was all wrong. I gave Susan Erickson 5 stars because I felt she did justice to all my beloved characters. The only thing that occasionally bothered me was her fast pace during some of the dialogue. I still plan on listening to this version again and think it deserves 5 stars, but sometimes I would find myself thinking "slow down a little!" I listened to all the samples for the unabridged version, and I glad I chose this one.
I decided to read this book again after remembering the fond memories I had from reading it as a teenager. I am glad I did because I don't think I fully appreciated it then. I think I could safely recommend this book to anyone.
I thought the narration was wonderful. I think Andrew Sachs got all the characters spot on.
