This is an excellent workout program for both beginners and people like me who have spent quite a few hours in the gym. By following the routines at the pace trainer Owen McKibben set out I got a great workout within a half hour. While this program is really designed for people with access to a gym, you can modify the moves if all you have are a pair of dumbbells at home. My one concern is that there is little to no stretching exercises as part of the routine. It would have been worth the extra five minutes to make us go through a good stretch routine before and after the workouts.
I should note that while women would appreciate this workout, it's really geared toward men. It's clear, no-nonsense and effective.
