Love mysteries with a lot of twist and turns. Page turners. Love books that invite me in to stay awhile and make me sad when it ends. It can be the voice that brings the story to life or the story that breaths life into the voice. I am happy either way!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Rainwater to be better than the print version?

Absolutely ! I was held captive by Victor Slezak's performance and might I add a little in love. You just can't get that kind of tenderness and strength from the printed page.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Mr. Rainwater - hands down!! He was just a good man who always tried to do the right thing. Slow and easy - every time he spoke I thought of honey and how smooth it glides along its path.

Which character – as performed by Victor Slezak – was your favorite?

Mr. Rainwater. Looking for other Victor Slezak performances.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Extreme? No but I became so immersed in the story until I lost all track of time. Was very sorry to see it end. Listened twice!

    Any additional comments?

If you are looking for good solid story, told with grace and tenderness then this is it. You will not be disappointed.

All decent parents want to do what's best for their children. What Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother reveals is that the Chinese just have a totally different idea of how to do that. Western parents try to respect their children's individuality, encouraging them to pursue their true passions and providing a nurturing environment. The Chinese believe that the best way to protect your children is by preparing them for the future and arming them with skills, strong work habits, and inner confidence.

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?
