Immortal vigilantes from the time of Moses have planned the unthinkable. But how can you stop what you can’t see? The battle didn’t start this year...or even this millennium. It began when Moses was on Mt. Sinai. Tired of waiting on the One True God, the twelve tribes of Israel began worshipping a golden calf through pagan revelry. Many received immediate death for their idolatry, but 40 were handed a far worse punishment - endless life on earth with no chance to see the face of God.

What made the experience of listening to The 13th Tribe the most enjoyable?

Giving a "voice" to each character helps to make it real.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

It was a bit slow in the beginning, but I realize Robert Liparulo was building the story. Once it got started, it was fast paced and exciting. It had lots of twists and turns.

    Any additional comments?

Oh yes ... Audible needs to offer us the sequel!

At the trial of Christ, Theophilus, brilliant young assessore raised in the Roman aristocracy, stands behind Pontius Pilate and whispers, "Offer to release Barabbas." The strategy backfires, and Theophilus never forgets the sight of an innocent man unjustly suffering the worst of all possible deaths - Roman crucifixion. Three decades later, Theophilus has proven himself in the legal ranks of the Roman Empire. He has survived the insane rule of Caligula and has weathered the cruel tyrant’s quest to control the woman he loves.

This is my first book by Ronie Kendig. It started out a bit slow, but once it took off, it was really good. The foreign names got a bit confusing at times. This book is in 2 parts. The second part was definitely the best. I realize it is the first in a series, but I wish she had tied up a few more loose ends. If you enjoy military-type books, you will like this one.

We love all of Creston Mapes' books. This is a story about the life of a super rock star. Everett Lester is one messed up dude! It did get a bit confusing at times when the storyline would go from the past to the present and back again. But once we got into the story, it was not a problem. We highly recommend this book and are anxious to get started on the sequel ~ Full Tilt.

Charlotte owns a Birmingham bridal boutique. But with her own wedding day approaching, why can’t she find the perfect dress - or feel certain she should marry Tim? Then Charlotte purchases a vintage dress in a battered trunk at an estate sale. It looks brand-new, shimmering with pearls and satin, hand stitched and timeless in its design. But where did it come from? Who wore it? Charlotte’s search for the gown’s history begins as a distraction from her sputtering love life. But it takes on a life of its own as she comes to know the women who have worn the dress.

This is my first Rachel Hauck book but definitely won't be my last. She tells a story that develops through the years and does an excellent job of going back and forth between the past and the present, without being confusing. There's plenty of twists and turns as well as romance and humor. This is the first time I have heard this narrator, and she was perfect for this book. I highly recommend this book, author and narrator!

Cathy Cramer is a former lawyer and investigative blogger who writes commentary on local homicides. When she finds a threatening note warning her that she’s about to experience the same kind of judgment and speculation that she dishes out in her blog, Cathy writes it off as mischief…until her brother is caught in the middle of a murder investigation - the victim is his ex-wife. As her brother is tried and convicted in the media, and bloggers have a field day, Cathy wonders if she should have taken the threat more seriously.

We highly recommend it and look forward to the next in the series.

Some claim chemicals leaking from a manufacturing plant are causing the cancer that’s crippling people on the poor side of Trenton City, Ohio. Yet nothing at the plant appears amiss. The problem remains a mystery until reporter Jack Crittendon’s longtime mechanic falls ill. As Jack investigates, he becomes engulfed in a smokescreen of lies, setups, greed, and scandal. I have now listened to 3 Charles Martin books, and this is his best of the 3 (The Mountain Between Us and Chasing Fireflies). He has a very unique writing style. This book has such a sweet storyline. And I couldn't help but fall in love with Charlie! The narrator is perfect for this book. I only give 5 stars for books that "blow me away". This could have gotten 4-1/2 stars but it ended a bit too soon and abruptly for me. I don't like to wonder what happened next. At least give an epilogue and summarize! I highly recommend it.
