"Great book, must read"
Truly enjoyed this book. Not one to read unless you can give your undivided attention but definitely worth your time. Looking forward to listening to it again! Fascinating theories of the mind and great neurological explanations for why we react the way we do. Made me want to read more of Siegel's work!
"An exceptional must read for anyone who eats food"
An exceptional book that has a compelling message. I've recommended this book to everyone I know and will continue to do so. A completely eyeopening story of food production and what the meat industry and factory farming are doing to the environment, our food, and our health. My husband and I, both of us happy omnivores have become vegan since reading this book and are happier and healthier than we've ever been. I thank Jonathan Safran Foer for bringing this information to the light of the public and think more people should know about the horrors going on and the reality of the food they put into their bodies on a daily basis. Jonathan is not only a wonderful author but a great narrator. The best credit I've ever used!
"Essential read"
An eyeopening book that explores where our food comes from and where it SHOULD come from. Every omnivore (and herbivore) should read this if only to know what they're putting in their bodies and know they have a choice and how to go about making that choice. I was even more of a fan of Eating Animals but this was a softer story with a lighter message.
"Painful"
After so many good reviews I was excited to read this book and I was so disappointed! The extensive background information on Pi was unnecessary and once they FINALLY got to the boat it was so painful to listen to and so graphic, I just wanted it to end! I would've turned it off early on but I wanted to hold out, hoping the great things were to come. Unfortunately it never came. The second star was for the narrator who was incredible! His accents were amazing!
"Interesting concepts, worth reading"
The ideas presented in this book were compelling and I have recommended this book to family and friends. I've even listened to it twice Still not sure if I'm buying what this book is selling but it doesn't hurt to try! On a side note it was great to have the author narrate but the Australian accent was quite strong at times.
