The Bhagavad Gita is a gem so precious in India's spiritual treasury that many regard it not as a volume of sacred verse, but as a living manifestation of the Divine. In the summer of 1974, inside a balmy Boulder, Colorado, warehouse that served as a main hall of a fledgling Naropa Institute, some say a minor miracle occured: The reawakening of the Gita's living presence, as it unfolded in a series of wisdom teachings led by Ram Dass.

  • Outliers: The Story of Success

In this stunning new book, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers"--the best and the brightest, the most famous and the most successful. He asks the question: what makes high-achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: that is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing.

Would you consider the audio edition of Outliers to be better than the print version?

Yes, I very much enjoy how he narrates. Brings the story to life.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Outliers?

His discussion of schools. As I work at a university, I found the pieces on education very interesting.

What about Malcolm Gladwell’s performance did you like?

He has a great speaking voice. As he wrote the book, he knows where he meant to put what emphasis and it works really well.
