When the Locust Horde burst from the ground 15 years ago to slaughter the human population of Sera, mankind began a desperate war against extinction. Now, after a decade and a half of bloody fighting, and with billions dead, the survivors have been forced to destroy their own cities and sacrifice their entire civilization to halt the Locust advance. The last-ditch measures have succeeded, but at an enormous cost: the survivors have been reduced to a handful of refugees.

If your a fan of the series and games you'll like this. The books really flesh out the characters and get a much better sense of who they are as compared to the games. The whole series of books takes place before or in between the games. The only thing that frustrates me about these books is that they seem to raise more questions rather than answer them. Hopefully Gears of War 3 will offer a whole lot of answers and closure.

Newly appointed CIA director Dr. Irene Kennedy is the target of an inside plot to destroy her and prematurely end the American President's term. To make matters worse, Saddam Hussein is close to entering the nuclear arms race - something Israel has vowed to stop. With the haunting specter of World War III looming, the president calls on his secret weapon: top counter-terrorism operative Mitch Rapp. But with only two weeks to take out the nukes, Rapp is up against a ticking clock - and impossible odds.

Where does Separation of Power rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's on the same level with all the other Rapp books...Awesome!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Mitch Rapp. Everybody wants to be a clandestine operative that "doesn't exist" right?

What three words best describe Ken Kilban’s voice?

    Not Mitch Rapp!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    GET TO DA HOSPITAL!!!!

    Any additional comments?

Keep in mind George Guildall has us all spoiled. He is a fantastic narrator. Perfect for Mitch Rapp and crew. Ken Kilban leaves a lot to be desired with this book. His accents for the Middle easterners are not good. The women's voices are not good. Rapp, well Rapp sounds like a feminine man who would barely hurt a fly or kill a man. Its lacks that gritty, won't take any bs, battle hardened edge that fits him so well. However if you are a Mitch Rapp fan I wouldn't let it keep you from getting the audiobook. Kens voice, despite all the negative things I mentioned, is tolerable. Its just definitely not what we are used to.
