I am a big fan of Jodi Compton. I actually like this book better than the first in this series. Many rich characters. I highly recommend this book.

Having read this book before purchasing the audio book, I can say that this is the wrong narrator for this series. Narrator is dull. Jory is this wonderful character, who is suppose to be spunky with a little snark thrown in. After listening to this book, the whole story just comes across boring and that is because of the narrator, not the story. I recommend reading this one instead of listening to it.

Dory is used to fighting hard and nasty. So when she wakes up in a strange scientific lab with a strange man standing over her, her first instinct is to take his head off. Luckily, the man is actually the master vampire Louis-Cesare, so he's not an easy kill. It turns out that Dory had been working with a Vampire Senate task force on the smuggling of magical items and weaponry out of Faerie when she was captured and brought to the lab.

I like Joyce Bean, but I don't think she is the right narrator for this book. This is the first book is this series that I have purchased on audio. Read the other 2. So distracting for me, that I couldn't finish the book.

Tim Conroy knows all about patience. He’s waited three years for Rory McCown to get out of jail after doing time for stealing horses from the Blue River Ranch. Now that Rory is eligible for parole, Tim makes it his goal to persuade his boss, Hunter Krause, to give Rory a second chance. He almost regrets it when Hunter agrees. Rory is a morose loner one moment, then arrogant and overconfident the next. The attraction between them is still there, but as soon as they start to get close, an old enemy throws a wrench in the works.

I wish if they were going to make an audiobook by this author, it would have been Facade. It is a much better story. Narrator is only ok.

Everyone says there are two paths in life, but for Jewel Scott it looked like both of them were very dangerous things. One led toward Anthony, a murdering psychopathic Werewolf who was also the head of the city mob and her fiancé...against her will. The other road led toward Steven, a Werecougar whom she had knocked out with a baseball bat on their first meeting. He retaliated by kidnapping her and making her his mate.

Has Dangerous Things turned you off from other books in this genre?

    yes

Would you be willing to try another one of K. B. Stanford???s performances?

    no

    Any additional comments?

I couldn't get past about hour on this audiobook because the quality was so bad. It bounces from barely being able to hear the narrator, to her yelling in your ear. This may be a great book, but I couldn't get past the narration and quality.

When a 15-year-old girl is abducted by vampires, it’s up to U.S. Marshal Anita Blake to find her. And when she does, she’s faced with something she’s never seen before: a terrifyingly ordinary group of people - kids, grandparents, soccer moms - all recently turned and willing to die to avoid serving a master. And where there’s one martyr, there will be more.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Lackluster plot. I usually enjoy this series, but this one was a little boring.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I think Kimberly Alexis usually does an excellent job, but what is up with the new Micah voice. It almost sounds irish. Completely different from past books.

  • The King of Lies

John Hart creates a literary thriller that is as suspenseful as it is poignant, a riveting murder mystery layered beneath the southern drawl of a humble North Carolina lawyer. When Work Pickens finds his father murdered, the investigation pushes a repressed family history to the surface and he sees his own carefully constructed facade begin to crack.

Scott says: "Better than a Grisham novel"

    Any additional comments?

I think David Chandler does an excellent job narrating this book. He does the CJ Box Joe Pickett series also, so I was familiar with his style before I listened to this book. If you like John Hart's other books, you will probably like this one. The big difference is you don't feel like this one is set in NC even though it is. David didn't do the southern accent for the main character, but other than that is was fine.

Four friends, recent college graduates, caught in a terrible job market, joke about turning to kidnapping to survive. And then, suddenly, it's no joke. For two years, the strategy they devise - quick, efficient, low risk - works like a charm. Until they kidnap the wrong man. Now two groups they've very much wanted to avoid are after them - the law, in the form of veteran state investigator Kirk Stevens and hotshot young FBI agent Carla Windermere, and an organized-crime outfit looking for payback.
