I have not read something so imaginative and tactile since reading american gods by niel gaimen. The story very much reminded me of the neil gaimen book 'Neverwhere' but was a considerable lighter read than American Gods. If you love science fiction, you will love this story.
This was a very graphic novel full of violence and yet not gratuitous in content. The characters are alive and moving making them easy to visualize. Even though the movie was very true to the book, the book was well worth the read giving even more information and an ending that completed the questions that reamined at the end of the movie. I would read this again.
The story is at first sad without any hope that made me curious to the direction the book would take. In the end was a loving book of hope and longing outlining the relationship and dedication between a father and his son in even the most deparate of situations. It was a very plausible description I could easily visualize and feel deeply for. I recommend this book to anyone interested in a sad heartfelt insight into what family means or what it is to be human.
I was so in love with this character Leo all I wanted for him was something happy in his life. It made me happy and sad all at once. It was so funny and so true at the same time. Most highly recommended.
This was a wonderful read and though more than 20 hours was still too short. I wanted to know more. Getting to know the characters and the mysteries and plots deep seated in the story was easy most times but at times I had to go back to put 2 and 2 together. I will read it again and recommend it to others.
I read this book after seeing the hours and wanted to know more about this author. I could not make the connection between this book and The Hours but liked it very much. The three stories are great stading on their own but when taking together give a very deep perpsective on who where are as people and where are we from (or going). Highly recommended
The little girl was so delightful and real. I love this story and recommend it highly.
I love the texture and this culture and characters. I great read.
I can not believe how proficient the author is by taking such a breath of imformation and condensing it into bitesize pieces that even a doctoral can find a wonderful relevance and new context. I loved it and think every middle school and high school kid should hear this. Wonderful.
I enjoyed the text of the geography and the spirit of the characters. I would read it again.
