This absolute classic is brilliantly narrated by Wood who uses his talent to the extreme. I was duly impressed at Wood's lingual skills in navigating the dialect and accents. For those who have written reviews detesting the use of the "N" word, that's simply how they spoke in Twain's time. This novel brings you back to the lazy days of the mid 1800s in America and all that goes with it. If you paid attention in high school or college US History class, you'll understand the language of the time. "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" was on my high school reading list and I was hooked when I read it. I had read it twice more after school and was thrilled when it came out on audible.com. I was not disappointed by the treatment the audio transformation gave it. Highly recommend.

Jeremy Irons made this incredibly rich and complex story come to life. Without his narration, I would have never made it 15 minutes into this book. I loved how he really brought Humbert Humberto together. His flawless delivery of each word made this an easy complex book to listen to.

I don't typically write reviews. I usually don't have time, or the energy to do so (defined as: lazy). However, I just finished Twilight. I downloaded this book because of the movie, which I did not see, but wanted to know what the hype was about. The spirited, yet sultry voice of Ilyana Kadushin instantly hooked me. I because acutely attached to the main character, Bella, and was totally engrossed in the story. It is certainly rich in detail, well read, beautifully set, and strangely believable. I like the author's description of the vampire and the debunking of the myths. I like the Indian backdrop too. It leaves a lot of room for maneuvering in future novels. I was on edge during the last few hours of the book and could not stop listening. I was fearful for the character and thought the depth of her, and Edward was compelling and lively. I yearn for the love they have for each other. Must work on that with the wife... It is totally palpable.
I also like how the whole story was tied together. It left only a few gaps, which can easily be tightened in future novels. But that leads me to the problem. I read on the author's website that she has put the latest addition to the saga on indefinite hold due to a security breach with the manuscript. While I understand her frustration, anger, and rage, I think it is a betrayal to the fans that have followed the story since 2005 to leave them hanging. It would be like Rowling not publishing Deathly Hallows because someone stole a few chapters and published it on the internet. I hope the author comes to her senses and finishes the saga, the right way.
