Is there anything you would change about this book?

I enjoyed the book..but would probably read it next time to see if it was better....it seemed only so so to me.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I enjoyed that it wasn't immediately revealed who she was running from. or why.

Would you be willing to try another one of Amy Rubinate’s performances?

No. I tried really hard to find a way to describe what bugged me about the narrator. She sounded like a collage Sorority sophomore reading in class to her hunky, older professor who she is trying to impress.

Did She Can Run inspire you to do anything?

Not listen to the other buy a narrator...

New Keeper Rhiannon Gryffald has her peacekeeping duties cut out for her - because in Hollywood it's hard to tell the actors from the werewolves, bloodsuckers, and shape-shifters. Then Rhiannon hears about a string of murders that bear all the hallmarks of a vampire serial killer, and she must confront her greatest challenge yet. Together with Elven detective Brodie McKay, she heads to Laurel Canyon, the epicenter of the danger, where they uncover a plot that may forever alter the face of human-paranormal relations….

Would you ever listen to anything by Heather Graham again?

    I don't know...

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Nothing really jumps out at me.

    Any additional comments?

The world had the potential to be an interesting take on the paranormal..but I don't feel especially emotionally connected to any of the characters. The ending was just flat for me...

Vampire bounty hunter Morgan Bailey wants three things for her birthday: cupcakes, a little action from her sexy new boyfriend, and a good night’s sleep. After the year she’s had, is a quiet celebration really so much to ask? Apparently…yes. It turns out a psychotic sidhe - a subspecies of fae - is running amok in Portland, and it’s up to Morgan to take him down. There’s just one problem: this fairy is as powerful as he is psychotic. And considering the supernatural nut jobs Morgan has dealt with, that’s saying something.

Where does Kissed by Smoke rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    8 out of 10

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Morgan.

What does Emily Sutton-Smith bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She really brings the characters to life.

    Any additional comments?

The weakest part of the book is the romance. There was such great potential for the love triangle. But t.he dragon is so perfect - boring I can't remember his name. Jake is the worlds worst bodyguard. Before they met he could psychically intuit when she was in trouble. After they met...not so much. Supposedly he couldn't be with her because he needs to be clear headed to guard her...but after they slept together a couple of times he not only couldn't sense when she was in trouble...but was never around her and never answered her phone call. I started wondering if after he got what he wanted he just wanted to be left alone so he could teach 5th graders piano.

Dark magic, unknown enemies, monsters of every stripe - FBI profiler Jace Valchek has seen it all. In this bizarre parallel universe, shape-shifting werewolves and blood-thirsty vampires don't even warrant a raised eyebrow. That is, until Jace has to face what life might look like as one of them.... It starts off as just another run-of-the-mill assignment: to track down the rogue don of a mafia werewolf family before he upsets the delicate balance of the underworld. But Jace wasn't counting on being bitten....

Would you consider the audio edition of Better Off Undead to be better than the print version?

Don't Know...never got around to reading it.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It is so hard to do without spoilers..but I enjoyed the book until the end. I just don't seem to enjoy Cassius as much as other people. I think he is cardboard and uninteresting (and when we get to see below the surface he is angsty and whiny...) I don't want any romance between them EVER unless we see them interact more and develop some chemistry between them. I think she has more chemistry with Gally. Sigh....

What about Johanna Parker’s performance did you like?

    She is very talented.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Please don't ever sleep with Cassius.

    Any additional comments?

The mediocre attempt at "Romance" dropped the book from a four to a three for me.

FBI profiler Jace Valchek's ticket home from the twisted parallel universe where she's been called to duty hinges on the capture of serial killer Aristotle Stoker - and an alliance with a sorcerer known as Asher. The problem: Asher has joined forces with some of the most dangerous creatures Jace has ever encountered. The solution: There is none, without Asher's help. Jace's goal seems simple enough - to get her man, like always. But just hours after she arrives in Vegas, she's abducted....

Where does Killing Rocks rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

eight on a scale of one to ten.

What did you like best about this story?

Charlie, Gally, . I love the world that he has built. I love the alternative mythology.

What about Johanna Parker’s performance did you like?

She is very good at the voices. Although the Mafia guys are a little too cartoony for me...

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    When she shot Charlies

    Any additional comments?

I do not understand why some reviews say that this book was somehow out of kilter from the first two. Parallel universe - Check! Evil Sorcerer gunning for Jace - Check! Comic book elements - check! Fighting bad guys - Check! I really enjoyed it and it filled in some blanks. I am not sure how the people who skipped three and didn't feel that they missed anything anything..KNOW that they didn't miss anything...after all...they skipped the book...I just finished four and I think four was off track. After three I couldn't wait until I could get my hands on four. After four I am not sure I want to listen to five. . Charlie wasn't there for most of the book...but that was vital to the storyline and made for some nice suspense. One the other hand - I really didn't like four and thought it was off base. No evil sorcerers. No comic books. No alternative universe travel...

As a side note. I tend to enjoy books with four elements. 1. bad guys/mystery to solve. 2. strong female character 3.Paranormal elements. 4.. Romantic relationship of the main character large focus.

I prefer series that focus on one character and am willing to overlook lack of one of those elements above if the rest are strong enough.

This book is NOT a romance book by any stretch of the imagination. Unless the series has a drastic shift the only "Romance" involves Jace having crushes on various men around her and every once in a while sleeping with one and then wondering if she should have a relationship with them.

The only books with time travel that I have ever enjoyed have been Lynn Kurland books and Diana Gabaldon books. As a general rule I HATE time travel/parallel universe stories.

My favorite books that have similarities to these books are the CE Murphy, Jeanine Frost, Carrie Vaughn, Patricia Briggs books.

Because of the lack of a good romantic element so far I would personally not rank this book as high as these. But there are more books..so I am hopeful....
