"Enjoyable serires"

Morgan.
She really brings the characters to life.
The weakest part of the book is the romance. There was such great potential for the love triangle. But t.he dragon is so perfect - boring I can't remember his name. Jake is the worlds worst bodyguard. Before they met he could psychically intuit when she was in trouble. After they met...not so much. Supposedly he couldn't be with her because he needs to be clear headed to guard her...but after they slept together a couple of times he not only couldn't sense when she was in trouble...but was never around her and never answered her phone call. I started wondering if after he got what he wanted he just wanted to be left alone so he could teach 5th graders piano.
"Nothing outstanding"
I enjoyed the book..but would probably read it next time to see if it was better....it seemed only so so to me.
I enjoyed that it wasn't immediately revealed who she was running from. or why.
No. I tried really hard to find a way to describe what bugged me about the narrator. She sounded like a collage Sorority sophomore reading in class to her hunky, older professor who she is trying to impress.
Not listen to the other buy a narrator...
"Scooby doo ending..."
I don't know...
Nothing really jumps out at me.
The world had the potential to be an interesting take on the paranormal..but I don't feel especially emotionally connected to any of the characters. The ending was just flat for me...
"Hate Hate hate the latest "boyfriend...""
Don't Know...never got around to reading it.
It is so hard to do without spoilers..but I enjoyed the book until the end. I just don't seem to enjoy Cassius as much as other people. I think he is cardboard and uninteresting (and when we get to see below the surface he is angsty and whiny...) I don't want any romance between them EVER unless we see them interact more and develop some chemistry between them. I think she has more chemistry with Gally. Sigh....
She is very talented.
Please don't ever sleep with Cassius.
The mediocre attempt at "Romance" dropped the book from a four to a three for me.
"f"
eight on a scale of one to ten.
Charlie, Gally, . I love the world that he has built. I love the alternative mythology.
She is very good at the voices. Although the Mafia guys are a little too cartoony for me...
When she shot Charlies
I do not understand why some reviews say that this book was somehow out of kilter from the first two. Parallel universe - Check! Evil Sorcerer gunning for Jace - Check! Comic book elements - check! Fighting bad guys - Check! I really enjoyed it and it filled in some blanks. I am not sure how the people who skipped three and didn't feel that they missed anything anything..KNOW that they didn't miss anything...after all...they skipped the book...I just finished four and I think four was off track. After three I couldn't wait until I could get my hands on four. After four I am not sure I want to listen to five. . Charlie wasn't there for most of the book...but that was vital to the storyline and made for some nice suspense. One the other hand - I really didn't like four and thought it was off base. No evil sorcerers. No comic books. No alternative universe travel...
As a side note. I tend to enjoy books with four elements. 1. bad guys/mystery to solve. 2. strong female character 3.Paranormal elements. 4.. Romantic relationship of the main character large focus.
I prefer series that focus on one character and am willing to overlook lack of one of those elements above if the rest are strong enough.
This book is NOT a romance book by any stretch of the imagination. Unless the series has a drastic shift the only "Romance" involves Jace having crushes on various men around her and every once in a while sleeping with one and then wondering if she should have a relationship with them.
The only books with time travel that I have ever enjoyed have been Lynn Kurland books and Diana Gabaldon books. As a general rule I HATE time travel/parallel universe stories.
My favorite books that have similarities to these books are the CE Murphy, Jeanine Frost, Carrie Vaughn, Patricia Briggs books.
Because of the lack of a good romantic element so far I would personally not rank this book as high as these. But there are more books..so I am hopeful....
