Those who were left behind after the Rapture must now make a crucial decision. Each person must choose whether to receive the mark of the beast, or die. Never has faith in God been more important for the group of believers called the Tribulation Force, who now face danger on all sides. Valiantly, they continue to urge new followers to accept Christ's love.

    "Sure Miss Ferrone as Narrator"

While this 8th book in the series is as good as the 7 prior, I sure miss Mr. Ferrone as narrator of the unabridged versions. Mr. Muller's character accents took some getting used to.

At a moment when the world is asking, "Can the religions get along?" one figure stands out as the shared ancestor of Jews, Christians, and Muslims. One man holds the key to our deepest fears and our possible reconciliation. Abraham.

"A Journey, But Not to the Heart"
    Overall

I so looked forward to this book, but what a disappointment! The author strains so hard to turn a phrase the book reads like a high school creative writing essay. That could be overlooked, perhaps, if conclusions reached were based on sound logic. Instead of an honest attempt to paint a rich picture of Abraham on top of the charcoal outline we already know, the author seems to reach for whatever might be the most fantastic or controversial conclusion even when it contradicts the very research he presents. This book is clearly not of a journey to the heart of three faiths. It is more like opening a tabloid in line at the grocery store.

More than three decades ago, a diving accident left Joni Eareckson Tada a quadriplegic. Back then she questioned how a loving God could condemn an active young woman to a lifetime in a wheelchair. Today she is grateful. Because it's from this vantage point that Joni has discovered a God who is so magnificent that no circumstance, no matter how terrible, can separate her, or you, from his fierce, tender, and enduring love.

What a wonderful, upbeat and moving narrative. It felt like a conversation with the author rather than hearing a book read. I couldn't wait to get in the car to listen to the next segment. After getting to know the author so well through her story, I will never look at parapalegics the same way again. I highly recommend this book.

The author of 6 Gold Medallion award-winning books challenges Christians to become living answers to a world that desperately wants to know, what's so amazing about grace? Philip Yancey gives the listener a probing and impassioned look at grace: what it looks like - but more importantly, what it doesn't look like. Yancey contends that grace is a concept at the heart of God's plan for salvation, and that it is the responsibility of every Christian to reveal the grace the world is searching for.

After listening to this book, I bought 6 paper copies and shipped them to my parents and five sisters. Very inspiring. I've since listened to several other Yancey books. All have been good, but this one's the best.

Thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book, start to finish. While not a replacement for Bible study, it is easy to follow, thoroughly entertaining, and brings to life the Bible stories. Definitely worth the time. My 80 year old mother heard some of it and said, "that's really in the Bible?"
