I have no idea
No, there are many great authors.
The narrator can only read the written word. If it isn't good neither will be the narration.
All of them. They have no identity.
Please do not neglect to listen to the sample; it does not get any better and it was my mistake. Turow has written good books way back. He should go there and try again..
He missed here. This book is boring. The reviews are correct.
Dick Hill is great but even he could not save this book.
Wish I could get my money back
A good narrator enhances a good book. A great narrator can even make so-so book better.
Jonathan Marosz has wonderful diction and a pleasant voice but, he has a fault that if corrected would make him a much better narrator. At the beginning of each sentence he vocally sits on the first and sometimes second word which becomes very annoying. I feel certain that he is unaware of this habit and, if advised, it could easily be rectified. While distracting it does not detract from a very interesting story.
I preface this review with the statement that I am a Baldacci fan, and that I will purchase and read the book since it is an interesting concept,
What is the matter with the editorial staff at Audible? You have ruined another Baldacci book with third rate dramatization. Ron McLarty does his usual fine narration and then you add Orlagh Cassidy who is, I mean no offense to her personally, ill equipped for this production or any narrating position. A high school drama student would have done a more professional reading.
All said I will never purchase another Audible book that is ???dramatized??? and not simply read as in the past. There is an old adage ???if it ain't broke don???t fix it???. Why have you departed from your normal format?
Unfortunately I purchased The Collectors and The Sixth Man in the same time frame and did not realize that this was another "pseudo drama" and not a straight narration. You do McLarty a great disservice. I have 162 novels in my Library, more than a casual listener, but I will never purchase another if I see that it is not straight narration and I certainly will pay attention to the perceptive and excellent reviews. They are really on the money.
I should have paid attention to the existing reviews. Perhaps it is an interesting book but it is hard to tell the narration is so distracting.
Waste of my time and money and it is too frustrating to even finish..
The previous reviewer is correct-the story is very "thin".
Probably would have had more reviews if the srory had been better. Not up to Flynn's standard.
