With Duran Duran, John Taylor has created some of the greatest music of our time. From the disco dazzle of debut single "Planet Earth" right up to their latest number one album, All You Need is Now, Duran Duran has always had the power to sweep the world onto its feet. It's been a ride - and for John in particular, the ride has been wild, thrilling...and dangerous. Now, for the first time, he tells his incredible story. A tale of dreams fulfilled, lessons learned and demons conquered.

    Any additional comments?

Even though I am not a pop star, I felt that I could relate to the issues that the author dealt with. The book is very well written and comprehensible. As a big Duran Duran fan, it is nice to hear the back story over the decades.

Young Michael, an illegal immigrant escaping the troubles in Northern Ireland is strong and fearless and clever, just the fellow to be tapped by Darkey, a crime boss, to join a gang of Irish thugs struggling against the rising Dominican powers in Harlem and the Bronx. The time is pre-Giuliani New York, when crack rules the city, squatters live furtively in ruined buildings, and hundreds are murdered each month.

Where does Dead I Well May Be rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The narrator is awesome, the plot is fantastic - it would be a great movie, if Hollywood did not screw it up. This is the first book I have read from Adrian McKinty and I intend to read many more.

A ferocious firefight with Iraqi insurgents at "the battle of Al-Ansakar Canal" - three minutes and forty-three seconds of intense warfare caught on tape by an embedded Fox News crew - has transformed the eight surviving men of Bravo Squad into America's most sought-after heroes. For the past two weeks, the Bush administration has sent them on a media-intensive nationwide Victory Tour to reinvigorate public support for the war. Now, on this chilly and rainy Thanksgiving, the Bravos are guests of America's Team, the Dallas Cowboys....

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I found this book familiar, funny and sad. It has very interesting incites on domestic patriotism in contemporary American (Texan) Society. Everyone loves the troops, to the extent they can leverage them or co-brand. I was in the military and ther perspective is definitely familiar.
