This book is definitely for open-minded people. But even if you are a strong believer in the Bible, you have to admit that some things mentioned in this book make sense. You don't have to believe them, but it makes you think.
I enjoyed the closure on the whole story. But.. This was probably one of the worst narrator performances I've heard. Not that he stuttered or slurred; this guy should have been a sports commentator. He talked super fast and didn't change voices for different characters, which sometimes made it hard to follow a conversation of two people. To me it sounded like he didn't care for what he was reading and just wanted to get through it as fast as he could..
I very much enjoyed the story, but I didn't appreciate the change of narrators. The new guy pronounced names differently and hardly changed voices and accents for different characters like John Sondericker used to.
I have tried to learn Spanish several times, and always ended up giving up. With Pimsleur I'm actually always looking forward to the next lesson.
I've read several reviews on this program on different websites and was surprised that I found verdicts such as "slow", or "boring". I don't agree with that. I think it's paced well, if it was much faster it would probably be overwhelming and counterproductive. As for boring, I don't know what they expect from a language lesson. It's interactive and not boring at all. Instead of memorizing a bunch of words or phrases you are engaged in a conversation.
I would definitely recommend this program to my friends.
Even though I am happily married, I am so glad I read this book. (I wasn't looking for relationship advice and I came across this book by accident) It helped me understand why my previous relationship didn't - and couldn't - work out. And now I learned how to make my marriage even better! I would recommend this book to everybody, because it has the potential to do just what it says: Help you find - and keep - love.
The third book takes an unexpected turn and instead of a game arena it takes place in a real battlefield. Although I enjoyed the book, I must say that compared to the first two parts this wasn't quite as good. But, whoever read the first and second is most probably going to read the third - to finish the story.
Once again the story takes you in the gloomy future, where Katniss is forced to fight for her life. Her emotions are very well described, something a movie can never do.
This was definitely the longest audiobook I've listened to. It sucked me in and didn't let go until I was done. The story is very detailed and I started to feel like I was part of it, like the main characters were people I actually knew.
This story totally captured me. Finally something truly meaningful, that I can relate to people and situations around me.
Yes. Very well written and narrated.
