I always enjoy Whyte's work, but this book speaks most eloquently to the trials and tribulations of being a creative soul in the world. As a writer finding my own voice, I always turn to him when I need to illuminate my own map. He does not tell me where to go per se, only that he (as well so many others) has been in that darkness on his own path and I should not despair. That, in fact, I am exactly where I need to be.
I've always been a Guy Gavriel Kay fan, but this is by far his best work yet. And the narrator was perfect. This was one of those books I didn't want to end.
I sat next to Mr. Rollins at a conference a few years ago and was surprised at his mild mannered shyness, considering the crazy adventures he captures on the page. This book is no exception. A great story and a great narrator!
I picked this up on a whim and was so surprised at how great it was. The story and characters are fabulous. The writer has a wonderful, literary turn of phrase and captures the essence of the worlds very well. The narrator is incredibly good and keeps you completely engaged. A must for your library!
James Rollins hits another home run. Great narrator, great story.
Not great, but it has its moments. The story is a bit convoluted at times. The narrator is decent.
Worth every single minute of the even longer listen than the last one. This book is equally fabulous and the narrator remains perfect. A must to add to your library!

An enjoyable little read. Not a literary masterpiece, but fun characters and story. Definitely worth a listen if you like this type of story.
I've read a bunch of his work and typically enjoy them. This was OK, but I lost interest in the characters, which is saying something for Chuck.
